Chapter 40 - Secret Weapon (2/2)
Looking at the information on his desk, Joshua immediately called for Georgi.
“How are the preparations going?”
“It is estimated that the enemy will require four days to arrive. We are all prepared to greet them with our swords. The traps on the battlefield have all been set up. When the time comes, we can jump straight into battle!”
Hearing Georgi’s words, Joshua sat down in his chair in peace.
In the distant Tobomori City, Duke Richard had all his troops ready to go.
This time, there were not only 1,000 elite knights, but also 2,000 infantrymen.
In order to ensure 100% victory this time, Richard directly dispatched 1,000 iron-armored corps from his territory to provide support.
“With 4,000 soldiers, I don’t believe that we can’t take down Puba Village this time!”
With this, Duke Richard personally led the expedition, intending to chop off Joshua’s head himself.
However, the journey was not as good as he had imagined. It was supposed to be a four-day journey but it had taken them an extra three days.
Along the way, they either encountered all kinds of ferocious beasts and unexpected disasters.
These things seemed to indicate something, which made Duke Richard very unhappy.
“Men!”
The adjutant quickly walked over from behind him.
“What are your orders, my Lord?”
“Is our journey still long?”
The adjutant quickly contacted the vanguard unit and a few minutes later, news came.
“My lord, there’s about one more day!”
“Very good, it seems that our victory is right in front of us.”
In Puba Village, the army of more than three thousand people near the garrison was ready to go. All of their equipment was the best they had.
Although they were just basic equipment and weapons, the quality of the equipment was determined by the standards of the forgers.
In addition, these things were all made with Alger’s heavily modified materials, so all of them were better equipped than the soldiers in Duke Richard’s army.
The start of the war was a few days later than expected. It was pouring.
This weather made Richard’s knights and heavy soldiers extremely uncomfortable. They were drenched and many of the soldiers were sick from the cold.
Looking at the increasingly difficult road ahead of them, Richard could not help but point at the sky and curse, “You want to obstruct me? Don’t even think about it!”
The moment he finished speaking, the rain became heavier. The muddy ground in the forest made it extremely difficult for the soldiers to walk.
The cavalry also stopped riding their horses and began to walk on foot. Their horses could not bear the extra weight brought by the rain, so they could only stop and wait for the rain to stop.
The old village chief of Puba Village, Carl, looked at the rain outside and felt the energy between heaven and earth.
A magic power flew directly into the sky through his body.
This rain was supposed to only last for half a day but under the effect of this energy, it lasted for an entire day.
Old Village Chief Carl muttered, “Joshua, I can only help you so much. Everything depends on you!”
Looking at the rain in the sky, Joshua could not help but sigh, “The right time, the right place, and the right person. I have all three! Our army will win this war!”
Joshua was not the only one who thought so. Mortimer, Georgi, and the others behind Joshua felt the same thing.
