Chapter 33 (1/2)
After sending Little Shirley back, Joshua went to the city hall, ready to find a better position for poor Ariel.
The city hall was still very busy and everyone was swimming in their work.
Joshua walked into the office and Mortimer immediately welcomed him.
“Young Master, to what do we owe this visit from you? Haven’t you finished all your work recently?”
Joshua immediately explained, “It’s like this, I encountered some strange things today…”
He immediately told Mortimer about what happened to Shirley’s family. After hearing this, Mortimer also felt the same way.
Although Puba Village was not a wealthy village, Mortimer had always been kind-hearted. Once there was a problem with a demi-human family, he would lend a helping hand.
“I understand. I will arrange an easier job for Ariel! In order to prevent such a thing from happening, I will send people to investigate other similar situations! I will strive to let every villager of Puba Village live a good life!”
After hearing Mortimer’s promise, Joshua immediately left the city hall.
‘Ariel, the road has been paved for you. Next, please work hard on your own!’
Even Joshua himself did not expect Ariel’s achievements would be so high in the future, to the point where she would become one of the eight great city lords.
The streets were no longer empty as before, and people were coming and going.
Everyone on the street had their own work to do, and they were all working hard for their own bright future.
This made Joshua sigh to think that the world was unpredictable. If it was his previous life, he would definitely still be working hard in some convenience store!
After a self-deprecating laugh, Joshua saw a huge ship passing over the village in the sky.
Its target seemed to be the southern coastline.
Joshua immediately went to the garrison and called for Georgi. He brought a group of people to the seaside to wait for the skyship to land.
Soon, the ship landed on the sea. Mondette walked down from the big ship.
“Hi! Long time no see! Village Chief Joshua, how have you been recently?”
Seeing that the usually carefree Mondette, he immediately said, “I’ve been waiting for you for a long time! Are you free today? Why don’t you come to my village for a little gathering?”
Because the eastern continent had been sealed off, Joshua could only buy things through this big merchant.
There, Joshua decided to sign a long-term trade agreement with Mondette.
Mondette stood where she was and thought for a moment. After a moment of silence, she replied, “Yes! I didn’t have time initially, but the next transaction isn’t very profitable so there’s no need to be in such a hurry.”
“I can see from your eyes that it’s a big deal! As expected of a shrewd merchant, let’s settle this back at my own place.”
After giving instructions to one of her men, Mondette followed Joshua back to the village.
At the dining table, Georgi, Alger, Mortimer, and a few people in charge of business all sat down.
“So, it’s like this. I think you should know that recently, the entire eastern continent has been sealed off and no caravans are allowed to enter and trade here.”
Hearing this, Mondette waved her hand and said, “The Floating Plane is not under the control of any country. All the things produced by the Floating Plane are allowed to be sold anywhere on the continent. Therefore, I’m not worried about the Lancelot Empire. They have no control over our merchant’s movements.
“As a merchant of the Floating Plane, as long as you have enough high-quality magic stones, I will definitely give you the things you want even if I’m selling to both sides in the war! That’s what it means to be a merchant from the Floating Plane.”
