Chapter 29 (1/2)

On the shoreline to the south of Puba, a large ship carrying the flag of a noble suddenly appeared.

Not long after, the large ship landed on the seashore.

Hundreds of troops got off the ship and moved toward Puba under the lead of a man dressed in noble attire.

Duke Richard Rowan led hundreds of soldiers and arrived at Puba before the sun rose.

They stood at the location marked on the map. There should be three small wooden houses behind them.

When they arrived, he discovered Puba Village stretched as far as the eye could see. Moreover, the village road was crowded with people.

This was not the most important thing. The most important thing was that the village was actually in an orderly manner. There were also sturdy houses made of stone bricks.

Seeing this scene, Richard could not help but frown!

‘Did I come to the right place? I remember half a year ago, there were only three small wooden houses in this place! Now, this place has become a self-sufficient village!’

So he raised his hand and beckoned to his adjutant, saying, “Go in and ask who the village chief is. Tell him to come and see me immediately!”

“Yes, Duke Richard! I’ll go now.”

The adjutant quickly followed a flat path to the village. With the help of the guards, he successfully arrived at the city hall.

Everything along the way shocked him! This was not a village, it was almost comparable to a fully built town!

“Hello! I am Duke Richard’s adjutant. May I know where the village chief is?”

Hearing this, Mortimer immediately stood up and walked out from behind, introducing himself, “I am the acting village chief of this village, Mortimer! May I know why you are looking for me?”

“Ah! Duke Richard wants you to meet him and tell him why such a village has appeared here!”

Hearing this, Mortimer was not happy. Why was their village of any importance to this Duke Richard?

“This place belongs to the Lancelot Empire. I don’t think I need to meet Duke Richard of Ockham Dukedom! Please go back!”

Hearing this, the adjutant immediately pulled out the weapon on his waist.

However, seeing the tall and big guards around him, he endured it, turned around, and left the city hall.

‘I will remember this! A village of only 1,000 people is so arrogant!’

Along the way, he returned to Duke Richard’s side to report.

“Duke, the village chief here refuses to communicate with you and he even said such words! They said that this place belongs to the Lancelot Empire so there’s no need to talk to you at all.”

Hearing the adjutant’s words, Richard was very surprised. The other party actually knew about him and even publicly rejected him!

Looking at the various offensive and defensive equipment in the village, Richard finally knew why they were so calm.

Because this village was not afraid of being invaded at all. They had long been prepared for many wars.

After Richard made his decision, he said to the adjutant beside him, “Have all the soldiers wait here for my orders. Follow me in to meet the village chief!”

“Duke Richard! They are all demi-humans. It’s not safe for you to go in like this!”

Richard stared at the adjutant and said with an evil smile, “If it’s not safe, then what are you here for?”

Hearing this, the adjutant immediately knelt down. After knowing that Duke Richard had walked far away, he stood up and followed.

Under the adjutant’s lead, Duke Richard quickly arrived at the city hall in the center of the village.
