Then suddenly, Leo got startled as he wasn't expecting for the little girl to open her arms towards him when he got closed from her.
Because he wasn't expecting this gesture from her, Leo just subconsciously reached out to her and took her from Rose's hands onto his arms.
”Are you alright?” Leo look at the little girl in his arms and asked worriedly but at the same time, he was also shocked that this kid wasn't even scared at the gruesome sight she just saw and the one before her and instead, he saw some longing in her eyes.
It was something he was very familiar with as he would also see those longing in the eyes of every survivor that he had met and those he had taken in or those already living within his camp.
”Uhmm” the little girl just gave a cute grunt before burying her head towards Leo's chest.
”Uhmm..we-”
”You guys can take two of them”
Charlie opened his mouth and was about to say something before Leo interrupted thinking that this group of people probably wanted a portion of the meats just lying around them.
”No..we want-” Charlie didn't even finish when he suddenly got slack jawed at the sight that just happened in front of him and even his companions wasn't an exemption! All of them has the same expression plastered on their faces! Shock, disbelief and worse, two of them were even stuttering!
Trying to force the words to come out of their mouths!
A few moments later, all of them finally came into their senses and they started making a ruckus.
”W-what in the world just happened!?”
”The corpses disappeared when h-he w-waved his hand!”
”My god! Is he a god or something!? It's impossible for an ordinary Evolver to do that!”
”We shouldn't be worrying about that now! He already walked away! Look!”
After Rose reminded them of their purpose, they finally noticed that Leo and the little girl disappeared from their sights! So they turned towards the direction that Rose is pointing at and where they saw that Leo was already a already a couple of hundred meters away from them!
”So fast!”
”Come on, let's go!” Charlie was the first to take off and the rest immediately followed suit except for Rose.
”Wait! What about the beasts carcass!?” Rose suddenly shouted from behind.
”Leave it and catch up!” Charlie yelled back while running.
”Such a waste” Rose had an unwilling look on her face as it's been a really long time since she had eaten a fresh meat, especially if it's the meat of a mutant beast which made her really think of how it would taste like compared to the meats of domesticated pigs before the apocalypse.

A few moments later, Leo along with the girlie in his arms finally exited the wide but lush forest, where he was greeted by a huge convoy of vehicles that just arrived with armed men hastily disembarking from it.
And not a second later, Charlie and his group also arrived and the first thing that they noticed was the armed group in front of them which made their legs jelly as they can't help but stagger backwards. Rose even fell on her butt as all of them wasn't expecting that they would be greeted by a huge group of armed men the moment they walked out of that hell of a forest!
'What the heck is going on! Are they here to rob us!?' all of them are literally screaming in their minds.
Because all of them knew that even though they already evolve or mutated and already has the strength beyond the capabilities of a normal human.
They are still aware that they won't be able to outrun a bullet!
Especially if these hundred of armed men shoots at them at the same time!
While Charlie and the others are absorbed into their own thoughts. Austin was also looking at the little thing in Leo's arms with an incredulous face.
'This...is this the reason why he just suddenly disappeared to rescue this little girl? Is she his daughter?'
'F*ck! Those tiger ladies back at the camp would go crazy if they found about this!'
If Leo knows what his subordinate, Austin is thinking right now…
He would probably smack the shit out of him for having such exaggerated thoughts!
