Once he determined that the other party was indeed here for his life, Lu Tianzi acted immediately to pay them back in their own coin.

The Bewitching World might not be as effective in prolonged fights, but it definitely managed to buy Lu Tianzi enough time to deal the first blow, ending five of his opponents in one fell swoop!

Now, Lu Tianzi stood among their corpses, staring straight towards the bushes where his other enemies stayed hidden.

Even though he had managed to take the initiative, Lu Tianzi did not dare let his guard down.

There had been fifteen of them initially. Lu Tianzi did manage to eliminate five, but they were only those with the lowest cultivation levels.

Among the ten that remained, there was even someone at the Eighth Cycle Origin Core realm!

That was an opponent that even Lu Tianzi did not have absolute confidence against since he had never faced anyone with such a high cultivation level.

Nevertheless, if the other party did not give up and insisted on continuing the fight, then Lu Tianzi would not just stand there and let them run him over either.

The stand-off lasted a good few moments, with Lu Tianzi standing silently under the Silver Blossom Tree while looking straight towards the shadows where the leader of the dark figures hid.

The group of dark figures had come thinking that this would be an easy task. After all, the target was merely a martial artist at the Third Cycle Origin Core realm.

Of course, they also understood that this martial artist was a young genius who had managed to stand his ground against Linye Caixia in a spar at the same cultivation level, but that was not nearly enough to make them fear him.

With their cultivation levels at the Fifth Origin Cycle and above, any Third Cycle Origin Core realm martial artist would not stand a chance, not even if it was Linye Caixia from the past!

”Go!” the leader of the dark figures ordered.

Lu Tianzi stomped his feet, and an ancient emblem of light lit up on the ground.

The dense World Origin Energy in the surroundings rumbled and converged upon their position, creating countless tornadoes made of pure energy that spiralled up from the ground.

In an instant, the original tranquility of the area that they were in completely vanished, transformed into a scene of absolute disaster.

This was an improved version of the formation that Lu Tianzi had used against the God of Pestilence back at Xian Village, refined further using the insights that he had gained from then till now, drawing upon the individual properties of the surrounding terrain to bolster its energy output.

To the current Lu Tianzi, this was just a simple formation that he had set up in the short amount of time that he had before his opponents arrived.

But to most other formation masters, this would be nothing short of an extremely complex and high level formation.

”Dodge!” the approaching dark figures dared not get careless, all seven of them reacting immediately to the sudden activation of the killing formation.

Even though the opponent was but a Third Cycle Origin Core realm martial artist, they had seen with their own eyes how he took out five of their comrades in an instant.

Faced with this sudden move from Lu Tianzi, they chose to first avoid the energy tornadoes and analyse it in detail before taking it head on.

However, this also ended up throwing off their timings.

Instead of attacking Lu Tianzi altogether, they were now forced to separate, giving Lu Tianzi the opportunity to make his move.

Holding the Fallen Sun in his left hand and the Moon Culler in his right, Lu Tianzi dashed forward towards his nearest target without hesitation. Behind him, the five swords flew out from his earlier victims and circled around overhead while following his every move.
