They flagged down a taxi on the streets and headed to the closest ticketing center.

Just as the taxi drove off, a compact car silently drove out of a nearby alley and tailed them from a discreet distance.

During the taxi ride, Chen Lishan didn’t speak a word at all; Zhang Che didn’t know what to say, either. After all, the two of them had only known each other for two days. They weren’t close at all, and didn’t know where to begin.

Being in an awkward silence for the whole ride wasn’t a solution either. So, Zhang Che randomly found a topic and asked, “Uh, right, Lishan, don’t you need to go visit your family?”

Chen Lishan shook her head, replying with a bitter expression, “I don’t have any family. From the time when I can remember things, it was my older brother who took care of me.”

Her words were a little contradictory. Since she had no family, where did that older brother who took care of her pop out from?

Chen Lishan noticed the confusion in Zhang Che’s eyes. She explained softly, “My brother left me not long ago as well. Now I’m all by myself…”
