“Are you serious, Brother Che? We just fell asleep!” his teammates crawled out of their tents begrudgingly, wearing only their underpants. They didn’t understand why Zhang Che would wake them up in the middle of the night.

“Be careful. I sensed danger!” Zhang Che shouted with a stern face. The Gale Wolf King and Dark-Scaled Lizard Commander were summoned with a wave of his hand, followed by a mass of golden light enveloping him, materializing into the Swamp Crocodile King armor.

Seeing Zhang Che acting so seriously, the looks on Zheng Hongru and the others couldn’t help but turn grave. They quickly returned to their tents and put on their clothes. By the time they came back out, their subdued beasts were already summoned to their sides. Although they weren’t strong, having a large number of them by their sides provided some courage, not to mention them being useful cannon fodder during crucial moments.

“But, Brother Che, what’s so dangerous? Why don’t I sense anything?” Zheng Hongru asked.

There weren’t anything unusual in their surroundings. The insects were still chirping non-stop.

A slight breeze blew across their faces. There weren’t any strange smells either.

Li Da, Xiao Yi, and Sun Zhi looked confused. They truly didn’t sense any danger around them.

Zhang Che couldn’t help but start to suspect whether he was only imagining things earlier.

That wasn’t right, either. After his body was altered by the demonic flower, not only was his physique improved qualitatively, his sense for danger also improved. How could it be wrong?

Right at this moment, Zhang Che felt the chilling sense of danger again. Zheng Hongru and the others, standing opposite of him, widened their eyes looking in his direction, and revealed astonished looks on their faces, as if they just saw something unthinkable.

Before any of them could react to this, Zhang Che felt an immense suction force so strong that he couldn’t put up any resistance from his back. Just as he let out a shocked cry, his entire body was sucked into a blurry mass of chaotic light.

“Brother Che!” Zheng Hongru and the others cried out. In the next moment, the black door that just appeared behind Zhang Che also vanished without a trace, and Zhang Che had also disappeared from their sight.

“Quick, quickly send the rescue signal!” the more dependable Li Da was the first to react. He shouted with a sobbing tone, and his hands reached for a small little signal air gun from his waist. He flipped the safety lock and pulled the trigger, aiming the gun to the sky. A specially-processed signal round shot to the skies with a sharp screech, reaching several dozen meters high into the air.

Zheng Hongru and the other three also reacted one after another. It was like sending a single signal wasn’t enough. Each of them reached out for their own signal air gun and fired the rescue signal to the sky.

Four consecutive sharp screech rang out in the night sky, immediately breaking the silence in a several kilometers radius.

The rescue teams stationed around them came out of their tents one after another and rushed towards the direction where the signals came from.

If the examinees didn’t encounter some danger they could never hope to retaliate, they would never fire all their rescue signals consecutively. They had to move at full speed to have a chance of saving the endangered examinees.

Half an hour later, the location where Zhang Che’s team’s camp was set up was fully surrounded by squads upon squads of fully-geared soldiers. All kinds of powerful subdued beasts surrounded this area. Not even an insect could hope to fly in.

Zheng Hongru and the others were standing before General Tang mournfully. They recounted the happenings from earlier a few times, until they were sure that nothing was left out before stopping. Their eyes were filled with confusion, not knowing what to do.

General Tang nodded with a dark expression. He said gravely, “Alright, you get back to rest. Remember; you mustn’t reveal any of this matter. Otherwise, not only would you be punished heavily, you might even implicate your family. You understand?”
