Chapter 95 - How Hardworking a Glutton is (1/2)
“I knew it; the temptation of food is the same for all, regardless of species!”
Zhang Che held the roasted thigh of the Purple-Eyed Fox in his hand, looking at the quickly gathering dozen or so exotic beasts of various species. He had come to a realization.
Of course, this kind of situation might just be a coincidence. He had to try this out a few more times to confirm it.
However, Zhang Che didn’t have to worry about that for now. The proper course of action right now was to harvest these exotic beasts’ lives, allowing them to contribute a few beast cards to him. Was there any reason to reject experience that came knocking on your doors by itself?
Therefore, Zhang Che adjusted his sitting position and brought the roasted meat to his mouth, tearing off a mouthful of it. He immediately felt an indescribable flavor assaulting his taste buds, producing a large amount of saliva.
“The Purple-Eyed Fox’s meat isn’t only fragrant; even its taste is like heaven on earth!” Zhang Che exclaimed in admiration, his eyes half-closed in pleasure. Meanwhile, the Purple Jade Condor dove down from the sky, its huge figure akin to a bolt of purple lightning, streaking across the air in the blink of an eye and arriving above a huge lizard-like exotic beast.
It was only when the generated gale came assaulting its face that the huge lizard realized the impending threat. It was already too late by the time it thought to dodge.
How could it be possible for this huge lizard to dodge the diving attack of the three-star dark gold-quality Purple Jade Condor? A streak of blood splashed in the air, its head ripped apart by the Purple Jade Condor’s talons.

The mechanical sound of notification rang in Zhang Che’s mind, like the cue to the start of a symphony, ringing non-stop.
The Purple Jade Condor turned into a streak of purple lightning, its figure zipping about everywhere, seemingly unaffected by inertia. Every swoop would claim the life of an exotic beast, quickly turning it into a streak of glowing light, either disappearing entirely or turning into a beast card.
“Ai, this didn’t come easy. Finally, I don’t have to do things personally,” Zhang Che murmured gratefully as he chewed on the roasted meat. “It seems like having a powerful subdued beast is a necessity in order to bring up productivity. I’m really looking forward to seeing how powerful the Scarlet Flame Drake will be when I advance to Tier Four.”
Before Zhang Che was done eating the thigh of the Purple-Eyed Fox, the Purple Jade Condor was already done with its killing mission and flew back up into the sky, scouting the area dutifully.
Five beast cards of various quality were all that was left of the dozen exotic beasts attracted over here by the fragrance of the roasted meat.
“Go, frisky monkey. Pick up those beast cards for me.”
Zhang Che had thoroughly fell into decadence, treating the Gluttony Monkey as a servant. Any tasks that required him to move around would be delegated to the poor fellow.
However, the frisky monkey didn’t move a single muscle.
Turning around to look, Zhang Che discovered that this fellow’s round eyes were staring at the roasted meat on the bonfire, a long trail of saliva flowing out of its mouth reaching all the way to his feet in an unbroken trail!
Zhang Che slapped his forehead speechlessly. He sighed and said, “You should have said so earlier if you wanted to eat! Did you think I wouldn’t share with you?”
“Zhizhi!” the frisky monkey immediately cried out excitedly, his eyes beaming.
“But,” Zhang Che said, extending a finger out, “before you eat the meat, shouldn’t you bring back those beast cards for me, first?”
Before Zhang Che could finish his sentence, the Gluttony Monkey disappeared from where he was standing, moving at a speed comparable to Hanxue.
In less than a minute, the Gluttony Monkey came back to Zhang Che with his palms open, offering the five beast cards in a straight line to him.
Zhang Che was smiling from ear to ear. The beast cards were scattered in all directions. If he were forced to pick them up himself, he would have had to spend several minutes doing so.
