Chapter 564 - Im sorry but I dont know you (1/2)
They climbed up the stairs toward the entrance, joining other people who just arrived for the event. Mika handed her golden invitation card to the man at the registration desk before she smiled and nodded calmly as the man invited her to enter the area. It was the observation area for the VIPs and the race today was actually to get as much money as they could for the heart patients. Each person would have to pay 2k for entry and Mika actually paid 4k just so Ryn could accompany her. Then, for the money spent to choose the horse, every single cent would go to the foundation. Those who chose the winner would only get a medal. But all was not lost as they would be able to be served by Master Chef that was flown directly from his restaurant in N country after the race.
Mika took out the list of the racers and horses from the paper bag given at the registration desk. She found a seat to sit and crossed her legs as she looked at the information for each racer and horse. She leaned to the side to check what Ryn was choosing. She already had an idea which one to choose and wanted to know whether Ryn shared the same opinion. She would cover the cost, of course, as she was the one asking Ryn to come along.
”What do you think?” she asked Ryn.
”I don't know,” Ryn replied. Even though she was holding the list, her mind was on other things. She did not know about horse racing and she had no idea how to choose.
”I'm thinking of number 4. The horse looks good and has good winning history,” Mika said as she pointed at the horse excitedly. ”Number 7 looks good too.”
”You choose for me. I don't mind,” Ryn handed the slip of paper to Mika. She still was clueless about which horse or racer to choose. What kind of requirement to determine how the horse perform?
Besides, Mika has more experience than her and she should know which one to choose. It was better to let Mika choose it for her.
Mika took the piece of paper and copied her choice on it. Then, she called for a man who was in charge of collecting the paper. She handed both papers to the man before she smiled at Ryn. ”Let's enjoy the race.”
Ryn smiled but it did not touch her eyes at all. She was thinking about what to pack and whether she would have time to buy some food before she would go to the airport with Mei Li. She did not want to eat at the airport tonight. She wanted to eat something delicious but cheaper.
Mika stood up when the race started. Despite not having the mood to come, once the race started, the excitement everyone else felt seeped into her as well. She cheered for the racer she chose, forgetting momentarily about Ryn.
Not all were excited about the race. Some girls who came actually were the partner for some of the men there and they started to coo and act coquettish for the man they came with, hoping their partner would only look at them and ignore the other women. They were worried actually when they saw Ryn and Mika come without any man.
Would their man leave them for the two women?
The women spent the time cooing at their man and throwing a warning glare at Ryn. They could not glare at Mika when she was joining the others cheering at the race. They could only glare at the only woman who was sitting boringly on her chair.
Do not ever think of stealing their man in front of their eye... or else...
Ryn, unaware of the threat she presented to other women, sighed as she looked at her phone boringly. She scrolled through her calendar and decided that after the training was over, she would take a long holiday to recuperate and no one could follow her. She wanted to be alone, maybe going to the island for a few days just to relax.
She read the message from Mei Li who was actually reminding her of the time for the flight and what time she would come to pick her up.
Ryn crossed her legs as she replied to the message. She then opened her Instagram account and realized she hasn't posted the picture for today.
Ryn pursed her lips as she turned to look at Mika. Mika was screaming for her choice to go faster, even jumping a bit in excitement.
