Chapter 559 - Joining the family day (1/2)

”I promise I won't repeat it ever again. I will discuss everything with you first before I agree with anything,” Mei Li said.

Ryn narrowed her eyes suspiciously at her innocent looking manager. After a while, she sighed and shook her head.

Things already happened and nothing could make the time turn back. At least now she has drove her point and the manager knew not to challenge her patience again.

”Anyway, I am going to start my practical next month so I cannot take jobs that many,” she announced.

”You're starting your practical and you didn't inform me earlier?” Mei Li almost shrieked. She did not know that this mode under her would no longer studying but doing her practical so soon. If she knew earlier, she would start planning so many things for Ryn to participate. She has no doubt that Ryn would do her practical at either the Full Moon Corp, the company Jeremy established with Mika or at the Long Corp where Jeremy would be based on, taking over his father's place as the rightful heir.

”I might be following Jeremy during the tour but I am still thinking about it,” Ryn did not forget to break the news. She knew by now that Jeremy would do anything to make her agree to be his ȧssistant. She was sure, though, whether by being his ȧssistant could actually be regarded as the training she was required to do.

”What? Why?” Mei Li was taken aback with the news. If Ryn was supposed to do her training as per the requirement to graduate, why would the younger woman follow her boyfriend? This was not making any sense at all.

”He needs an ȧssistant to help him manage anythong from the companies while he's in tour,” Ryn repeated the reason he gave when he suggested it earlier. When she thought about it, she knew it made sense as Jeremy could not simply leave everything to his father in such a long time. He still needed to shoulder the responsibility especially the projects that he has already approved earlier.

”Oh...”

”However, I am still thinking about it,” Ryn said. Despite knowing the importance of it, she still needed to think about whether she could carry the responsibility. It was quite heavy for her to shoulder when she has no experience at all.

”Oh...”

”So I guess I'm going to take another not so short vacation during my training,” Ryn shrugged. As she was not sure which option she would choose, it was better to clear her calender.

”Ryn~” Mei Li cried. How could she do this to her? Didn't she know how many companies and brands were fighting to get her? And she wanted another break?

”What?”

”You can't be serious about taking such a long break,” Mei Li cried. She could help by making it as minimize as possible but to stop for such a long time... Was Ryn not aftaid to lose all her appealing? Her popularity?

Gasp.

Was she thinking about retiring... again?

But... but it was only a few months since her comeback and she has had enough... already?

Then... then... what about her dream of becoming the number one manager to manage the number one supermodel in the country?

”Why are you giving me that look?” Ryn was puzzled to see the many expression in her manager's face. From worried to horrror and back to worried and even now, it made her feel like she was being caught cheating by her own manager.

What was in Mei Li's mind to give that heartbreak look?

”Ryn... are you thinking about... about retiring... again?” Mei Li asked worriedly. She quickly closed her eyes and her ears before Ryn could answer, could not bear to see or hear Ryn said she wanted to retire again.

Nothing. She remembered nothing she said that could give that reaction to Mei Li.

So why would Mei Li think she wanted to retire?
