Chapter 542 - The wedding (1/2)

The Dowager was already sitting on her seat at the wedding venue. She clutched her cane as she watched everyone else, especialy the guests that the two families invited filling the seats with the help of the usherers. She smiled happily when more than three guests came to her to congratulate her for this wedding.

She was so proud when they all praised Mika and Jason. She called her in-laws to sit beside her so they could hear the praises too.

The couple was supposed to sit on the other side but being her, she ordered them not to be too rigid. Why should they allow others to dictate them where they should sit when the event was theirs and they paid money for it?

They should sit side by side so they could experience the moment they would become one big family together.

Mr and Mrs Wu have no problem with that. They also felt like the Long's family snd theirs were one big happy family.

The other side of the seats were filled with other guests and their relatives.

She narrowed her eyes at a group of people. She recognized the reporters that her grandson has allowed to cover the wedding.

”It has finally begun. Don't get nervous,” Jeremy told Jason who could not help from looking both nervous and excited. ”Calm down.”

Jason looked at the small microphone he was holding and took a deep breath to calm down. He glanced at the stage where a woman was sitting at the piano. The piano would accompany him singing when Mika walked to the aisle.

The woman did not look anywhere but at the music score. She was aware of Jeremy being in there and was afraid that she would get scold if she made a mistake. His fans were blinded with his sweet smile and handsomeness. They did not know the devil behind the smiling mask. Only those in the entertainment world knew how hard it was to please Jeremy, especially when he has made himself as a businessman.

The pressure was high for her and she gulped nervously as she studied the music score.

Please, God, don't let her do any mistakes today.

”You get my back?” Jason asked Jeremy.

”I have your back. Don't worry,” Jeremy ȧssured.

He was amused seeing this man in front of him who could not stop fidgeting and worrying about the singing. Jason might or might not do a mistake during singing but even if it does happen, just go with the flow. If it happens, it happens. And if at one time Jason suddenly lose his courage and handed his microphone to him, Jeremy has no problem to continue singing on behalf of Jason. It was no big deal at all.

Mika took a deep breath to calm herself. She accepted the glass of drink from Ryn and suċkėd the drink through the straw. She handed the glass back to her best friend once she was done.

”How do I look?” She asked for the millionth times.

”You look beautiful,” Ryn ȧssured by her for the millionth times. She never thought as the time getting closer and closer her best friend started to get so nervous.

Mr Long smiled seeing his only daughter behaving this way. He went forward and wrapped her arm around his. He patted her hand gently. ”My daughter is ready to be a wife. I, as your father, is proud of you.”

Mika looked at her father in touched. She did not know she needed to hear this to gain the confidence she needed. Her eyes went glassy.

”Once you've become his wife, you are no longer under my responsibility but his. Do not act willfully anymore. Think about him first before you do anything,” Mr Long gave his last wisdom before his little princess becoming another man's wife. He sighed. ”I still remember the first time you called me papa. You were so small and your lips, so small, but you just can't stop calling for me whenever you saw me. Even your mother didn't get as much call as me when you were young.”

”Papa,” Mika called him that as she held her tears desperately.

”Yes, just like that. Remember, we are always here for you so don't this this marriage will cut us apart. You are a Long and act as one. Smile, my little princess.”

Mika smiled. She took the handkerchief from Ryn and dabbed her eyes and cheeks carefully as not to ruin the makeup. She took the mirror and quickly reapplied her lipsticks and powder her face. Then, once she was satisfied with her makeup, she handed back the item to Ryn to keep in a small bag. Then, she covered her face with the veil.
