Chapter 532 - You didnt tell him? (1/2)
Ryn stirred with a soft yawn when she heard something being closed. She blinked her eyes sleepily as her memory came back.
Ah, she came here with Mika to have a nap after their lunch.
She sat up and stretched her arms, yawning loudly. Ahh... she felt slightly better. She looked around and found herself alone in the room. She frowned.
Where was Mika?
Ryn was about to call her best friend when she heard a giggle coming from the bathroom..
Ah, there she was.
Ryn canceled her plan to look for Mika and took out her phone. She saw several messages from Jeremy who was asking her location. She automatically replied where she was and with whom, just to lift the worry in him. Then, she realized she hasn't told Jeremy about White. Instead of typing 'I bought a car', she, just like what she did to Mika, sent the two photos to him.
It did not take long to receive his response. Instead of typing back a reply, he immediately called her.
”Hello,” she greeted him.
”Hello, love. Where are you?” Jeremy asked.
”In the hotel,” she replied without thinking.
”Hotel? What are you doing there? Having dinner?” Jeremy was not told that Mika and Ryn were spending time together. He went to work this morning and even until now, he was still dealing with the business. When Ryn sent him the photos then he paused his work and focussed back on his love. It was not his intention to ignore her but he had too many things to finish by today. If he was to postpone them to later days, he had to ignore her more just to finish them. That was why he decided by hook or by crook he would settle everything by today, even if he has to sleep at the office!
”Mika and I had a short nap after lunch. We'll return after dinner,” Ryn said as she scratched her arm absentmindedly.
”Oh...What are the photos you sent me about? Did you rent or buy a car?” Jeremy asked slowly. The suspicion in his heart disappear when he heard her explanation. Spending time with Mika? Good. He preferred his girlfriend spending time with Mika than with any other man.
”I bought it... yesterday,” Ryn answered truthfully. Even if she wanted to keep the when from his knowledge, he would learn it sooner or later. Better be straightforward and honest.
”Oh...” he waited for further explanation but it seemed like that was the end of her confession.
It was an awkward silence. Even Ryn had no idea what to say to Jeremy. She was actually hoping for him to say something or ask... anything. This silence was slowly driving her crazy. She did not mind if they were in the same room compared that being far away, doing their own things silently but through the phone, she preferred to know what he wanted her to say. She meant it was not as if she wanted him to order her around to do anything he wanted. She was referring to the topic they could talk about.
”I... I will see you tomorrow? Sorry, my love, I have to finish the work here first before I can see you.” Jeremy said finally. He paused just now because he needed to read a newly arrived e-mail. It was regarding the new project. He ordered Jacob to send him the report as soon as possible after he heard the rumor about an earthquake around that area. He was relieved to know the project was not affected by the natural disaster but he still wanted a proposal of how to overcome it if something happened in the future. They would never know what would happen in the future.
”Yeah, sure. Don't work too late at night. You still need to sleep and rest,” she reminded before ending the call. She put the phone onto the nightstand and let out a sigh. It seemed like Jeremy could no longer play around wanting to spend time with her now. He had to start to focus on the companies especially when it was still in the middle of merging. Ryn had no idea why it took them so long just to merge but she was not curious enough until she wanted to ask him or Mika. It was their company and has nothing to do with her.
She lied back on the bed by resting her head on her crossed hands. She stared at the ceiling while waiting for Mika to be done with her phone call.
It was about fifteen minutes later when Mika, still giggling, skipped out of the bathroom. She paused when she saw her best friend lying on the bed with her eyes staring straight at the wall.
”You're up?” she asked as she sat on her bed, still clutching to her phone.
”Hmm... just told Jeremy about White,” Ryn replied absent-mindedly.
”You didn't tell him?” Mika was surprised but at the same time felt gleefully happy to see how much Ryn loved her compared to her stinky big brother. She did not even bother to inform her own boyfriend but told her best friend first. See that, Jeremy, Ryn thought of me more, Mika's heart declared smugly.
