Chapter 530 - Am I the first you tell about this? (1/2)
She finished arranging everything in the kitchen. She also brought the plastic bag into the wardrobe so she could put the dry flower in that room to keep the room fresh. She also needed to put the mothballs into each section in order to protect the clothes and accessories from being 'attacked' by creepy insects.
She quickly distributed the balls and then washed her hands with hand soap. Then, she went to have a quick shower to wash away all the tiredness in her body. It did not take long for her to be done and she went to the kitchen. Her stomach was starting to growl with hunger.
And she wanted to sleep early today.
So instead of cooking steaks, she decided to make chocolate oat smoothies. She soaked the oat and cashew nuts first and left them on the counter. Then, she went to get her phone to check if there was any message..
Then, she quickly called her mother. The first person she wanted to tell about her purchase was her parents.
”Hello, mother. Are you busy?” she asked when her mother answered the call.
”No. I am with your father in the garden,” her mother replied. Although it was getting dark, the elder couple was happily tending their garden right beside their little house.
”How're the vegetables?” Ryn asked. She went back to the kitchen to check the soaking oat and cashew nuts.
”They grow so well. Next week I will post some for you, including chia seeds and flax seeds.”
Ryn's face paled at the announcement. Her mother would not be serious, would she? Her mother knew she did not eat whatever her mother just mentioned. Wouldn't they go to waste if she sent them here?
Unconsciously she shivered at the thought of the parcel coming to this place. Hopefully... erm wait a minute. She was going to follow the newlywed on their honeymoon. She would not be here to receive it.
She started to smile. Those rabbit food would go bad before she could receive them so the fault was not hers.
”Wait a second. Mika is getting married in a few days, right? And you two are so close, she might bring you along for her honeymoon, right? I really don't understand the need to bring others along for the honeymoon. Where is this trend coming from? I really don't understand it. Will you bring Mika along during your honeymoon?”
”I... err... I am not the one who is getting married, mother,” Ryn choked out. Where did this topic come from? And why was she even implicated in this matter? She was innocent!
After much difficulty, Ryn finally managed to distract her mother from the honeymoon trend. She took a deep breath before she said, ”Mother, I have something to tell you.”
Her mother gasped loudly before she could say the next words. ”Are you pregnant?”
”No... mother, I am not pregnant. How could you... Mother!” she sputtered at the wild accusation. Why on Earth would her mother... Had those weird grains and vegetables decreased the brain cell in her mother's head?
”Then? Has he proposed? Wait... it is not a short-gun marriage, is it?” her mother gasped loudly, even making her father who was happily carrying their labor of love quickened his walk to approach her. He wiggled his brows, asking her silently who was it and why was his wife so excited.
”It's Ryn and she... might be...” his wife made a gesture of pregnant stomach with her other hand.
Her father's eyes went huge. His baby daughter was pregnant?
”No... no... mother. I am not pregnant and he hasn't proposed. No, don't misunderstand, please,” Ryn begged.
”Fine. If you're not pregnant, are you sick, then?”
Ryn rubbed her temple. This misunderstanding was giving her a huge headache. Why couldn't her mother just listen first before she made an ȧssumption?
”Can you please let me speak first?” she asked, ”Just listen first.”
”Yes... yes... don't get angry or the baby will be too small,” her father said quickly, worried about his grandchild.
”She said she's not pregnant,” Ryn heard her mother tell her father. She silently thanked her mother for being understanding.
”Actually, I just want to tell you that I just bought a car,” Ryn said hurriedly before either her parents started to think weird again.
