Chapter 483 - Why tomorrow? (1/2)

Ryn dropped her upper body over the box and felt like weeping. She was beyond exhausted.

It has been an hour or two after Mei Li dropped her off at her place. Once she reached her home, after a glass of water, she quickly changed into the most comfortable shorts and spaghetti top and attacked her things.

She needed to pack her belonging before the moving company arrived tomorrow.

Why oh why she chose tomorrow to move? Why not next week, next month, or next year? Why tomorrow?

Her eyes looked at the items scattering all over the place and then at the boxes. She only managed to pack two boxes. There were so many things to pack.

She sighed. Who on earth the one decided tomorrow would be perfect to move house? Oh, yes. It was her. She was the stupid person. Hmph...

She took the marker and wrote 'bedroom' on top and at the side of the box. And then, she actually crawled to another empty box and started to fill it with things.

She paused to sip coffee to wake her up before continued working. Her hands never stopped moving even though she was longing for her bed desperately.

The clock showed that it was already 3 in the morning when she stumbled to her bed. She did not even bother to pull the blanket, just lie on it and dozed off.

Her phone rang several hours later. She g.r.o.a.n.e.d and grumbled under her breath, trying her hardest to ignore the call.

It took more than ten minutes of being insistent from the other person before Ryn finally gave in and answered the call. And she did not even put it to her ear but simply pressed the loudspeaker button.

”Hello?” her voice was heavy with sleepiness. It was to be expected when she only slept for less than four hours.

”Ryn, are you still sleeping? Today is the day you're moving, right?” Mika's cheerful voice filled the room.

Ryn frowned. In her drowsiness, her brain was slow to digest what she was hearing. She hmmed and oohed but she had no idea what she was agreeing to.

”Ryn, are you there? Wake up,” Mika cried when she realized something was wrong. Why wouldn't Ryn reply other than her hmm and oh? Was she still sleeping?

Ryn just snored. She fell asleep again while listening to Mika's voice. She was too exhausted to care.

Mika called again and again but there was no answer.

She stared at the wall blankly, trying to remember what she was supposed to do today.

And then she heard something.

She quickly jumped to her feet and rushed out, only to see a few men busy picking up boxes.

”You're up?” Jeremy asked when he saw her staring blankly at the company's men. Seeing how confused Ryn was, he assumed his girlfriend already forgot about this. Heck, he almost forgot to until Mika asked him to help Ryn first while she went to get breakfast.

Luckily he has a spare key for this house. As he was unlocking the door, Mei Li arrived with packets of food and drink. Apparently, she already promised Ryn that she would help during the moving too. Right now, Mei Li was busy watching downstairs as the men moved the furnitures and boxes into the lorry.

”Go and wash your face first. Then, have some bread fritters and soy drink,” Jeremy told her gently. He turned her around and urged her to the bathroom to freshen up.

”Ah...” she nodded dumbly and let him lead her into the bathroom. She closed the door and zoned out again.

”Wash your face to wake you up,” Jeremy reminded when he did not hear water being freed from the faucet. Has she fallen asleep in the bathroom?

Ryn snapped when she heard his voice. She patted her face, telling her brain to start working. And then, she went to sit on the toilet bowl and peed absentmindedly.

”Ah, I'm moving today,” she cried loudly, finally remembered what she was supposed to do today.

Jeremy who was standing outside chuckled when he heard her words. He was right. This adorable girlfriend of his really forgot about their plan for today. He shook his head and went to grab a towel for her. He knocked on the door and told her to open it slightly to give the towel to her. And then, he went back to the front, not forgetting to close the door of her bedroom tightly. He did not want any of those men to see her when she was still not ready to be in front of them.

He continued observing the men, making sure they took the right furniture and boxes. He knew not all would follow Ryn to her new place. Some would be donated and sold.
