Chapter 419 - My food is getting cold (1/2)

Both Jeremy and Ryn got out of the elevator. One was wearing the suits he wore yesterday while the woman was wearing jeans with a black hoodie. They headed straight to the restaurant as Jeremy was in rush and Ryn did not want to waste time searching for an empty seat in other restaurants.

Ryn showed her voucher while Jeremy handed his card to pay for the entrance. Ryn waited next to him patiently. Although they could still be considered as under 'cold war' but the manner she grew up with made her wait beside him patiently.

”You go and take your food while I look for our table,” he told her quietly and went straight to the tables scattering rather is structured. Well, at first sight, it did not seem like there was a system there but if someone looked at it again, he would see a sort of neat arrangement in the shape of a bubble.

Yes, a bubble.

Jeremy shook his head in bemused but it did not make him forget what he wanted. He chose a table not too far and not too close to other customers. He knew she would feel uncomfortable if they sat quite far from others (which was possible if he chose the one at the balcony outside) but he learned from what she said yesterday. He could not just think of himself and what he thought was the best for them.

And he knew he needed to learn to control his own emotion, especially his jealousy.

It would be hard but for the sake of their future, he would learn to control it. And of course, he knew it would not work immediately. For something he was so used to, it would take time for him to change.

And obviously, it would take time for her to believe in him. He realized it. It would take her time to believe in him, in them.

Although the road to their love life would face so many challenges, especially their biggest obstacle right now was trust, he believed that they could do it.

He sat on a chair and clasped his knees. He realized that after they started to start back their relationship, he was easily get bothered when she has another male friend. He did not find other men who were working with her as his rival but when he saw how close Ryn was to Harry and the way that green boy was eyeing his Ryn, he could no longer control his jealousy and anger until he placed all the blame on Ryn's shoulders despite he knew her innocence.

Ryn took two huge plates and went straight to the meats. She started to pile a plate with all kinds of meats she could see. Once one plate was full, she switched to another plate. None from the vegetable touched even a small space of any of the plates.

She was a carnivore through and through.

She went to search where Jeremy chose their table was. Once she saw him, she quickly walked there.

”Are you starving?” he asked with a chuckle. Shouldn't she have less appetite in her hangover state? He knew she still has some aftereffect but right now he could not see it at all.

She did not answer. In fact, she only positioned both plates at her side as proper. And then, she went back to get her drink. Her throat was getting dry minutes by minutes.

She needed something to wet her throat and she needed it desperately.

He was still staring at her food speechlessly. But then, he shook his head in bemused. She would never change and that was what made him fall crazily in love with her.

She would never change for someone else. She would stay true to herself.

He took out his phone and frowned. Why would his little sister call him this early? Didn't she need to go to work?

He stood up and walked to the balcony when he saw her walking toward him. He nodded and pointed at his ringing phone and then pointed at the balcony.

She did not break her strike while at the same time acknowledging his signal by nodding. She went to sit on her chair and placed both glasses of milk and juice on her side. She sighed as she threw her sight outside, at him. She narrowed her eyes but did not make a move toward him. She did not have any plan to see who he was talking to despite the frown on his face as he was talking on the phone.

It took him about five minutes before he ruthlessly ended the call even when his little sister was wailing at him for help. He put his hands on the railing and stared at the scenery of the morning. He sighed.

He stayed outside for another minute before he returned to the table.
