Chapter 416 - We need to talk (5) (1/2)

Mei Li stood up and grabbed her bag. But then, she still did not move. She just rested her hands on the head of the chair.

She did not move until someone pushed the door open. Both turned to look at the door. A waiter was the one opening the door. She bobbed her head politely before gave way to a man.

It was Jeremy.

Mei Li smiled at the sight of him. She straightened herself and looked at Ryn.

”I'll go first. You two talk first. And Ryn, just send me a message when you reach home,” Mei Li winked. She then walked to the door where Jeremy was still standing. She patted Jeremy's shoulder.

”Talk to her gently. She's still hurt,” Mei Li whispered before added after a pause, ”Goodbye.”

Jeremy gave a slight nod to acknowledge Mei Li's words. When the woman was almost walking through the door, he opened his mouth and said, ”Don't worry.”

Mei Li gave a wry smile and went straight to the entrance. She did not linger there, knowing fully well that whatever the outcome for this 'discussion', Jeremy would send Ryn home. Oh, she wished for Ryn not to be so stubborn and just let him send her home safely if the outcome is not to her like.

And please, don't let anything bad happen.

Jeremy started to walk toward the table once the door was closed. Instead of going to the empty chair, Jeremy went to stand in front of her.

”I miss you,” he said. He leaned down and wanted to hug and kiss her but she turned around, avoiding his embrace and kiss. He gave her a hurt look.

”Sit down,” she said before pressed a bell to call the waiter. She did not say anything until the waiter came in. She watched as the same waiter handed the menu to them. As Ryn did not eat much earlier, the waiter thought she would finally order something heavy.

”Have you eaten yet?” she asked him as she flipped the menu.

”Not yet,” he replied slowly. He tried to be more optimistic. Maybe she's having a bad mood because she was hungry. Food was the most important thing in her life, other than sleep. He should understand that side of hers by now.

Stay calm and don't get hurt, Jeremy, he told himself silently.

Ryn handed the menu once she was done ordering what she wanted. Then, she rested her hands on the table and looked at him, c.o.c.king an eyebrow.

He quickly ordered whatever he first read. He did not care what he ate as long as she was with him during the meal. For drink, as he was driving tonight, he ordered a glass of plain water. He handed back the menu to the waiter.

He waited until the waiter le left before his big hand reached for hers. She did not pull back, which made him relieved. So, his thought was right earlier. Her mood was bad because of hunger. She was not angry at him.

”Can you forgive me?” he asked. His mind told him that regardless of whose fault was it, he should apologize first. This way, she would be easier to coax.

Even Mika, despite not knowing that they were arguing, just blurted out that in a relationship, it's better for the man to apologize first. Of course, he did not agree with Mika's opinion, he still did that.

She licked her lips but still did not speak.

His heart pounded so hard just to get her reply. Why didn't she say anything. Has she forgiven him? Or was she still angry at him?

She licked her lips and realized his eyes were staring at her lips and gulped hard. Her eyes widened. He... he...

”Jeremy!”

”What?”

”You... you...” She could not believe he could even feel l.u.s.tful when they were in the middle of the discussion. A quite serious topic, she might add.

”My love, I miss you so much,” he said longingly. His eyes were still stuck on her rosy lips. He licked his lips without thinking. He missed kissing her lips. He missed hugging her. He missed having her in his arms, feeling her soft body against his hard body. He missed listening to her heartbeat when during and after the lovemaking session. He missed her.
