Chapter 414 - We need to talk (3) (1/2)

Jeremy put down his phone and looked at his mother. He smiled brightly, almost blinding her with his handsomeness. She stumbled backward. She knew her son was handsome but why today he seemed more handsome than usual? Did he eat something weird?

”Mother, let's go,” unaware of what his mother was thinking, he stepped forward and took hold of her arm, urging her to go to the shop where his grandmother was waiting.

She could not help from glancing at her son a few times. She did notice he was different today. Although he was smiling and acting fine, he was quiet than usual. Fine. He was quite a quiet man, she could not argue with that but today, he did not speak unless he was spoken to. However, after the phone call, he seemed much more... cheerful?

The elder woman was thumping her cane impatiently when the two Longs arrived at the shop. With a harrumph, she glared at her naughty grandson before she gave a meaningful look at the bunch of paper bags at her feet.

There was no word needed for Jeremy to understand the look. With a chuckle, he went forward to gather the bags in both hands and waited for her grandmother to finish her tea drinking.

”Let's go,” her grandmother put the cup onto the saucer and stood up with the help of her cane and her daughter-in-law. She gave another hmph at her grandson and started to walk to the sliding door.

Shaking his head in bemused, he followed her behind. After almost a whole day of shopping, has everything on the list being bought? He did not believe both women were not exhausted at all, especially the Dowager.

Ryn clutched the phone and let out a heavy sigh. She curled into a fetus shape and cried even more.

This was the best solution... right?

It took her half an hour before she felt better. She went back into the bathroom to freshen herself. She did not do much except washing her face. Luckily her eyes did not swell from all the cry she had since yesterday.

She sighed and splashed more cold water to her face. She should stop being so sad.

Especially when she was supposed to get ready for the dinner meeting tonight.

She checked the time and gasped. If she still dallying around, she would be late for the meeting. She quickly took out her mini iron and looked for a suitable place to iron her dress.

She took a deep breath to calm herself and started to iron the dress carefully. She did not have any extra just in case she accidentally burned this black dress.

It did not take long for her to get ready, to be honest. She did not put on too much make-up, just a little bit of powder, mascara, and red lipsticks.

Her hair? She simply put them into a messy bun.

She checked her image in the mirror, nodding her approval before she bent to get her heels.

This time she checked her reflection in the long mirror near the door. She could not help from glancing into the room. Maybe... if the 'discussion' with Jeremy went well, she would check out tonight after the meeting. Luckily she did not bring much. But then again, she could not predict what would happen later.

Ryn closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then, holding to her phone with her room card and identity card slid into the small compartment of her phone's cover, she walked out of her room.

She waited in the lobby calmly She kept checking on her phone. As she already made a 'date' with both Jeremy and Mika, none of them contacted her ever again. It gave her some time to breathe.

She crossed her legs and waited. Fortunately, she did not have to wait long when Mei Li called her, informing her that she has arrived at the entrance. Ryn stood up and walked leisurely toward the door.

The two men who were having evil thoughts at her earlier actually were at the lobby too but they did not notice her. They were chatting with a friend of theirs, quite far from where Ryn was sitting. In fact, with both of them were backing her, they did not see her at all.

They only noticed her when they stood up, already finished chatting there, and planned to go to the restaurant to wait for their victim, only to see the same woman, in a black dress, walking to the sliding door. They looked at each other, sharing a frustrated look. Their victim ate dinner outside? Shouldn't she be walking to the restaurant in this hotel for her dinner?

They forgot that they had no power to force anyone to eat where they wanted.

”Don't worry. She'll be back tonight. We can just wait for her,” one of the men winked at his partner in crime.

They shared a creepy smile.

Unaware that she was almost becoming a pervert victim, Ryn got into Mei Li's car and said, ”Jeremy and I will speak after the dinner.”

”What?” Mei Li was shocked by the sudden announcement. Wasn't just yesterday Ryn was determined to spend days away from everyone especially Jeremy and Mika but now... not even a day pass and Ryn already going to meet her boyfriend. ”Are you... sure?”
