Chapter 404 - Dont run away again (1/2)

”Just call her. Why do you ask so many questions?” Mrs. Si said as she crossed her arms. She was getting angry with this younger woman when Angela kept questioning her order. Why couldn't Angela just do what she told her to without arguing?

”She just came here. I bet she hasn't reached home yet. Why do you want her to come again?” Angela refused. She wanted to lie down back but her sister-in-law blocked her from doing it by pulling her closer.

”Silly girl, what do you know about a.d.u.l.t stuff? You just do what I told you to do,” Mrs. Si was getting exasperated with the way her sister-in-law kept giving excuses. Angela should just do whatever she is told to without arguing.

Life would be better if everyone just follows what she said, she grumbled underneath her breath.

”She's not a child. I am not a child. Stop treating everyone as a child. Later I will call her so can I have my nap now? I'm exhausted,” Angela murmured with her eyes closed tight.

”Angela.”

The younger woman ignored her. Sleep was more important than anything else.

”Angela... arghh... where is your brother?” Mrs. Si gave up on forcing the stubborn woman to call dearest Ryn. She stormed out of the studio, looking for her husband. Surely her husband has returned from his work.

The maids who were busy wiping the stairs quickly stopped and stepped back politely when they saw their Madam almost running down the stairs. Once they were sure she could not see them, they turned and continued their work. Working in a huge place like this was tiring but the pay was so good. The benefits were good too.

Mei Li followed Ryn out of the elevator.

Why did it feel like Ryn was laughing at her silently? She frowned all the way but did not have the guts to ask. She just pursed her lips and followed behind Ryn.

”Are you sure you still want to stay outside?” Mei Li asked as she watched Ryn unlocking the door. Ryn still insisted of staying in the hotel until she made up her mind, which in Mei Li's mind not needed.

She could just ask Jeremy and Mika to give Ryn time to cool down.

”Mei Li, stop asking me that. You know I need to do this,” Ryn said slowly. She was not angry at Mei Li for repeating the question over and over again. She knew Mei Li was worried about her. Her manager did not want her to run away from everything again. That was why she did not go to the island to hide again this time. She decided to stay at the hotel nearby so when she felt better, she would face them again.

”But...”

”This place has turned into a... prison for me. Both Jeremy and Mika have the key and they could come anytime. They could enter even when I refused to let them inside,” Ryn sighed heavily. She learned that Jeremy bought the whole building and even installed so many CCTV just to protect her from any harm. It was over in her opinion because this house was rented temporarily while her house was renovated. Sooner or later she would move into her house. But who could argue with Jeremy when his only reason for her own safety. He was worried that she would be under harm by staying here alone with not much security provided.

It showed how much he cared and loved her.

So what else could she do?

”Fine. Do whatever you need to do but please, Ryn, don't run away again. It won't solve your problem. Sooner or later, you still need to face and get through with it.”

Ryn did not reply. She went to drink a glass of water, even offering a glass for Mei Li. And then, she went into the closet to take out a bag. She headed to her bedroom to pack her things.

Mei Li did not follow her. She just sat on cough with the glass in her hand. She did not know what else to say to make Ryn change her mind. She put the glass on the coffee table and took out her phone. She checked Ryn's schedule and let out a heavy sigh. The whole week was full with filming, photoshooting and even shows and dress fitting. On top of that, Ryn still has to do her driving test.

With so much pressure from her work and private life, could she do her driving test with calm mind?

Mei Li was having stress by worrying about Ryn.

Ryn came out half an hour later pulling the trolley bag containing her belonging. She packed for a week, thinking if she needed to stay any longer, she could always come back to get more and even wash her clothes.
