258 Where did she meet him before? (1/2)
Mika pulled Ryn into a restaurant once they checked in their luggage. Mika, being the spender she was bought quite a lot until Ryn had to buy another luggage to fill in everything Mika bought for her. It was a stress buy for her, grumbling and glaring at the innocent-looking Mika.
Once they filled their stomach with food, Mika led the way to the waiting area for VIPs. Of course, when Ryn entered the area, she made a beeline toward the food.
\”Are you still hungry?\” Mika chuckled.
Ryn did not answer. She was too busy plating her plate.
Mika, on the other hand, went to the drink section to get her orange juice. Then, she chose a cushion to sit and crossed her legs comfortably.
Ryn was choosing some roasted beef when she felt someone standing beside her. She ignored the person and focussed everything on choosing the thickest cut.
\”Hello.\” A husky voice interrupted her focus.
She thought the person was talking with someone else so she continued her 'shopping'.
\”This is the thinnest meat,\” the man suddenly reached out a piece of meat from the plate in front of her and put it on her plate.
Ryn lifted up her head in shocked, only to see a handsome man smiling at her. She frowned. Why did she feel like she had seen him before? Hmm…
The man smiled. He reached for the gravy and cocked an eyebrow. \”Would you like a lot of gravy or just a little bit?\”
\”Excuse me?\” she choked out.
Not losing his temper when she quickly pulled her plate away from his reach, he kept his smile.
\”Don't be afraid of me. I'm not a bad guy,\” he chuckled.
\”Excuse me,\” Ryn, not even interested to continue this conversation, simply walked toward another part of the table. Instead of taking more food, she dropped the plate of food she was holding and went to find Mika.
\”Interesting,\” he murmured. His interest was fanned even hotter with the way she ignored him.
Ryn found Mika sipping her drink leisurely. She quickly sat next to Mika and grabbed the drink her best friend drinking.
\”Hey!\”
Ryn finished half of the glass before she returned back the drink to Mika. Mika was about to scold Ryn when she saw the weird face on Ryn's face.
\”What's wrong, babe?\” she asked instead.
Ryn opened her mouth to reply but later stiffened. She felt someone was watching her. She stopped herself from looking at the way and covered her face with her hand.
\”You… Do you see anyone who is looking at us?\” Ryn whispered.
He lifted his glass of wine and winked at her.
Mika gasped. She automatically covered her left side with a hand and leaned forward to Ryn.
\”It's a guy. A handsome guy,\” Mika hissed. She used her eyes to show how handsome the guy was. Her cheeks reddened at the thought of how dashing he was winking at her, an already taken cute beautiful woman. She felt like fanning herself, trying hard not to swoon.
\”Do you know him?\” Ryn asked the most obvious question. She could not remember where she saw him but she knew she met him before but where? Where did they meet?
\”I don't know. I can't remember,\” Mika replied, frowning.
\”But… but try to remember. I think he's from the wealthy family, your kind of family,\” Ryn was desperate to know who this stranger was so it would be easier for her to avoid him. She did not want to see him ever again.
\”Hmm…\”
\”Mika, try harder,\” Ryn hissed.
\”I'm trying… I'm trying…\”
*~*~*~*
Jason hummed to himself as he went downstairs.
\”Jason dear…\”
He stopped and looked at his mother. He frowned seeing two women were sitting next to her.
Not again.
\”Good evening, mother, Aunty Min, Ella,\” he greeted politely but did not make a move to sit next to the empty seat next to Ella. He just stood there like a statue but with a forced smile on his face.
\”Where are you going, son?\” his mother asked, making a good job of ignoring the flirty look coming from Ella.
Her little sister and niece came half an hour ago. Instead of talking about her son, Jason, who refused to take Ella under his wings in the company, Min was talking about her birthday party in a month time.
Of course, she almost forgot about it. It was rare for the family to have a big birthday party. They were more to the type of family who celebrated a birthday or any celebration only in the family. Besides, with Jason's wedding was getting closer, they were busy preparing for everything. Although most were done by Mika's family they also helped by preparing the house for the newlywed to live. Jason wanted to live in another house while Mika just did not mind living anywhere as long as she could be with Jason. A bonus brownie point for this young woman. Yes, she was spoiled but at the same time, all she cared about was living with the man she loved.
