Chapter 179 - Harrys plan (1/2)
The next day...
Ryn quickly put her things back into the bag. She had a lunch promise with Harry. Harry even reminded her several times about it so she could not cancel it... again.
Luckily for her, Harry agreed to have lunch at the cafeteria instead of outside the campus, where restaurants and cafes dotting along the road. She still needed to watch over her spending after buying a new house and renovate on it. Also, she spent quite a lot for renting a new house and moving her things there.
”Are you running again?” Erin commented dryly.
Her friends and the other classmates looked at Ryn.
Ryn sighed. She was so lazy to get involved in a drama when she had so many things in her plate right now. She needed to move now or she would be late.
”I just want to have my lunch, if that's too weird for you,” Ryn replied, standing up and adjusting her backpack.
”Excuses...” one of them muttered.
”Think what you want to think. I'm heading for my lunch,” Ryn replied and walked toward the door. It was just a waste of time trying to explain when they were filled with suspicious and prejudice over her. She was too busy to get involved with this childish drama.
Harry was already waiting outside when she walked out of the class. He smiled and approached her.
”How's your class?” he asked, trying to take her bag but she refused. He could only walk next to her with a heavy sigh. Why wouldn't she let him bringing her bag?
Was she still uneasy with him?
”I don't think this drama will end,” Ryn suddenly spoke, breaking Harry from his worry.
”What drama?” Harry was a bit puzzled with what she meant.
She used her eyes to look at those students watching and whispering while watching them.
”I have the feeling of being regret with the lawsuit,” Ryn sighed. Although she was not the one suing Jennifer per se but with Jeremy included her in the lawsuit and the press conference, she had to accept the consequence.
”I don't think it's because of the lawsuit,” Harry said slowly. He did notice the look and whisper but the thought of spending time with Ryn made him ignore them. Nothing was more important than Ryn.
”The scandal? I don't even understand why I've been pulled into their quarrel,” Ryn shrugged. She did not care about Jennifer. She did not care whether Jennifer and Jeremy...
Unconsciously her hand touched against her chest, against her heart. It felt like something squeezing her heart.
She guessed she was not happy with that thought although she was still unwilling to name her real feeling toward Jeremy. She was not ready for any relationship. Not now. Not ever.
”But you're not in a relationship with Jeremy, right?” Harry asked. His heart was pounding hard as he waited for the answer nervously.
”He's just a friend. A close friend,” Ryn said quickly. She crossed her arms and looked at him, ”Can't we don't talk about him?”
Harry was too happy to accept that request. ”Okay. We don't talk about him.”
They entered the building for the cafeteria. Harry quickly opened the door for her and was rewarded with a 'thank you' from her. He smiled.
”So, what do you want?” she asked once they entered the busy cafeteria.
”Let's check what they're offering,” he decided and pulled her toward the first stall.
They walked from one stall to another. Of course, Ryn's decision was quick. She wanted steak or something with a lot of meat with the least amount of vegetables. Once Harry saw Ryn chose her food, he chose the same. For drink, she decided to have fresh orange while he wanted to have coffee.
”It's a weird combination,” she commented once they found a table to sit and looked at his meal.
”I don't think so,” he denied, taking out a napkin for her.
She placed the napkin on her laps and started eating.
He smiled watching her concentration. He turned his focus on his own food. They kept quiet while enjoying their meal and their companion.
”You don't have class tomorrow, right? Do you have any plan?” he asked as they walked to the door after their lunch.
”I don't have class... no... but...”
”Can you help me with my walk?” he quickly asked before she could finish her words. ”Or do you have any other plan tomorrow?”
