Chapter 51 So-called friendship (1/2)

Ryn checked the time and sighed a bit. The class ended a bit later than scheduled. Although she still had time for her exercise, she needed to cut it short. She still had to buy grocery after a few days postponing it.

So troublesome!

She went into the changing room to change into her gym clothes, only to bump into Rebecca.

Rebecca paused. Her mouth opened but no voice came out.

Ryn simply walked around her, ignoring her completely. This was how they were now. Ryn was no longer in the group so she had no business to even talk with them. The group did not try to talk with her even though some of the girls kept glancing at her during class. They did their own thing.

She acted as if they were not there. She was used being alone so when they gave her a cold shoulder, it did not affect her much.

Why should she care what people think of her when they never think about her feeling?

Such a waste of time.

It took her no time to change into her exercise outfit. She did a very simple stretching routine, just a quick stretching to prepare her body for the real exercise. Then, she chose a treadmill and started to run.

”Why are you doing this?”

Without looking at the speaker, Ryn continue running, ”What do you mean?”

”Is it enjoyable to treat us like fools?”

Ryn pushed a button to stop the treadmill. Then she turned to look at Rebecca, cocking an eyebrow.

Why did it feel like they were putting themselves as victims?

”Are you kidding me?”

”No. I'm serious. You're acting like we meant nothing at all. Is it because you are already popular, you're looking down on us?”

”I can't believe this,” Ryn shook her head and started back running.

Rebecca pushed the button to stop the treadmill.

”Are you ignoring me now?”

Ryn groaned to herself. She turned and looked at Rebecca, now staring hard.

Rebecca gulped as she took a step back nervously without thinking.

”Look. I have never looked down on anyone, not even you. Why should I when we are no longer friends? It was not me who break our friendship but all of you did it. Was it my fault? I don't think so. I treat everyone the same.”

Ryn used a towel to wipe the sweat on her face and arms.

”You all keep blaming me for hiding my job but let's be honest here. Do all of you tell your secrets to everyone? Do all of you tell every single thing to each other? I don't even know where you live or who your parents are so why is it my fault that you don't know me? You don't even try to ask me, just pointing fingers to me all the time. Is this your so-called friendship? If this is what you meant by being friends, I'm sorry, I am not interested in this.”

With that, Ryn grabbed her water bottle and towel and headed to the changing room. It seemed like she would not be able to have her exercise with Rebecca trying to make her the heartless one.

So troublesome!

She did not change. She simply took her belongings from the locker and went to the exit. She put on the earphone and tried not to think about the bothersome activity also known as grocery shopping.

She was just waiting for a bus when her phone rang. She looked at the name and sighed a bit.

”Hello.”

”Hello, Love. Am I disturbing you?”

”…”

He laughed awkwardly. Was he being too fast?

”Is there something you need to say?”
