Next, I'll give it to you?
”Are you hungry? I'll cook it for you? ” Seeing Shi Xingcan in a daze, Qin Yanmo asked again.
”Ugh …” Don't you often live here? Why are there even eggs? ”
”I'll give you the key, take it!” A lazy male voice came from the window. Shi Xingcan didn't even have time to react before he smashed the key that was attached to the little fluffy rabbit onto her shoulder. Shi Xingcan wanted to say something, but the window closed with a bang.
Shi Xingcan had no choice but to open the door and enter. The living room was in a mess, the decorations and paintings on the walls looked very elegant, but they were also in stark contrast with the mess on the ground. The expensive sofa was turned over on the floor, and the coffee table was askew with a pile of used toilet paper.
Shi Xingcan tried her best to avoid the trash on the ground and climbed up to the second floor with difficulty. The windows on the second floor were closed, and heavy curtains blocked almost all light. The temperature of the central air-conditioner was extremely low, causing Shi Xingcan to shiver uncontrollably.
”Eh, Mr Xie?” Shi Xingcan tried to sound out twice, but there was no response. She had to use her memory to find the room where she had left the key. Stepping onto the soft carpet, Shi Xingcan slowly walked along the corridor. She heard a subtle sound coming from a room, so she hastily knocked on the door.
”Mister Xie?”
Shi Xingcan knocked on the door a few more times, but there was no response, so she could only slowly push open the door.
The room was very dark, with very little light coming through the curtains. The only light source left was the big screen inside the room, which displayed the interface of a terrifying game. A figure wrapped in a quilt sat on the ground, focused on manipulating the game. Terrifying screams could be heard from time to time from the stereo. The ground was as messy as the living room on the first floor, and all sorts of snacks and bags were strewn across the floor.
”Is that Mr. Xie? I'm the editor of the Times magazine... ”
”I'm not interested in you.” The man glanced at her.
”Huh?” Shi Xingcan was startled, had she found the wrong place?
”Mr. I'm the editor of Time magazine, and your three short reviews are over the deadline, so let me ask you if you need any help. ” Shi Xingcan spoke in a euphemistic tone.
”You're not from that woman?”
”Ah?” ”What woman?” Shi Xingcan was confused again. She knew that her editor was a man.
”Oh …” The man paused the game, pulled out a remote control from under a snack bag, and turned on the light in the room.
Only now did Shi Xingcan clearly see his face, his face was pale white, her cheeks were sunken, a black ring under her eye sockets, her beard was unshaven, her hair was also messy, and she was wrapped in a colored blanket.
”Sit.” The man said in a very casual tone. He reached his hand into the snack bag by his feet and took out some potato chips to eat. ”Whatever you want.”
”I just want your manuscript.” Shi Xingcan said. And how could this kind of trash possibly have a place to sit?
”A script …” The man tilted his head with a worried expression, ”It's over there.”
Shi Xingcan looked in his direction, and saw a laptop that was smashed into pieces lying at the corner.
”...” Do you still have a copy of your manuscript? ” Shi Xingcan's heart sank.
The man didn't answer, just looked at her with an innocent expression. Shi Xingcan could only sigh: ”Then can you still write another one?”
”What do you think?” The man shrugged. ”I can write it, but I have to do it once.”
”What?”
”Just do it once before you get any inspiration.” The man looked at Shi Xingcan as if he was looking at an idiot.
