Chapter 156 - Awakening of Consciousness (13) (1/2)

Jin Xiangdong did not rush into kissing Lu Jia’er. He reached out and stroke her face gently. “Jia’er, have you remembered something?”

“Why do you ask that?” Lu Jia’er sounded surprised.

Jin Xiangdong smiled, his hand gliding across her face. “You are acting odd tonight!”

Lu Jia’er kept her eyes on him. She had to admit that he was observant. But her answer was a question. “Is it odd to want to sleep with you as your girlfriend?”

The corners of Jin Xiangdong’s mouth raised up. “No, it is not.”

“There you go, I just want to make love to you. That is it.” Lu Jia’er claimed. “Or, are you saying that it bothers you that my memory is not complete?”

Jin Xiangdong denied it at once, “No, it does not bother me at all.”

“Really?” Lu Jia’er raised her head up and looked into his eyes.

“No, it does not bother me.” Jin Xiangdong gave a determined answer.

Lu Jia’er gazed at him. Eye contact was built. Several seconds later, Jin Xiangdong lowered his head. When his lips were about to be pressed on Lu Jia’er’s red lips, she suddenly pulled away.

His lips landed on her cheek, which came as a surprise to Jin Xiangdong.

The next second, Lu Jia’er pushed Jin Xiangdong away. She jumped down from the wash basin, trying to escape.

However, Jin Xiangdong grabbed her wrist. He pulled her back and stared into her eyes. “What is going on?”

Jin Xiangdong was so close to her. She looked at him. From the moment that the idea came to her mind till now, that idea had taken root and sprouted quickly. In a few hours, the seed of that idea had grown into a towering tree.

“Nothing is going on. I just want to be with you.” Lu Jia’er finished her sentence and reached out to unbutton his shirt.

Just like how she did it in the hotel at Phi Phi Islands, she was clumsy. Jin Xiangdong did not stop her and just watched as she unbuttoned his shirt bit by bit.

After only a moment, Jin Xiangdong’s sexy and firm chest was revealed to Lu Jia’er. She reached out her hand to stroke his chest. It was as if her fingers carried electrical charges, every piece of skin she touched, there would be invisible sparks generated.

Jin Xiangdong could not stand the seduction. That being said, there must be a reason for her being so abnormal.

Lu Jia’er raised her head slowly and looked at Jin Xiangdong. “I think I understand now!”

Jin Xiangdong looked at her. Pushing down the surging desire in his heart, he asked in a low voice, “What do you understand?”

“You know!” Lu Jia’er said.

Jin Xiangdong had already had an idea but he asked anyway, “What do I know?”

Lu Jia’er held his face, moved in closer and uttered her words in a low voice, “You know that I am an AI!”

The looks in Jin Xiangdong’s eyes shifted. “Who told you that?”

“Your expression, your looks and your reaction told me.” Lu Jia’er said.

Jin Xiangdong knew that Lu Jia’er was an expert in this regard, so those subtle signs could not escape her. Still, he was seeking confirmation. “Has anyone told you something? Or, are you remembering something?”

Lu Jia’er did not give him a direct answer. Instead, she moved her hand slowly from his face to his chest and poked his chest gently. “Your heart is hesitating.”

Jin Xiangdong grabbed her wrist, “I am not hesitating.”

Lu Jia’er shook her head with a smile, “Yes, you are.”

Jin Xiangdong dragged her hand to his chest. “I never hesitate when it comes to you!”

Lu Jia’er looked into his eyes. “Ace, just tell me this, the truth. Am I an AI?”

As he had expected, Lu Jia’er had arrived at this conclusion. But this was not entirely surprising. After all, she was clever and the awakening of consciousness was just beginning.

Jin Xiangdong had mixed feelings about the awakening of consciousness. He looked forward to it and at the same time, was concerned. Being involved in the research and development of AI, he could accept the growth of AI and had even bigger visions. He anticipated that Lu Jia’er could develop a human’s self-awareness, which would make her no different from a human being. On the other hand, he was worried. What would she have to deal with once she had self-awareness?

There were similarities between them but differences as well. They fell in love with each other at first sight, as if fate had dictated in an unseen way.

Jin Xiangdong did not answer her at once. Hence, Lu Jia’er pressed him, “Tell me. Am I an AI?”

This time, Jin Xiangdong did not think. He was determined and his tone was as serious as it could get. “Jia’er, so what if you are an AI? I still like you. I still love you!”

Hearing this, Lu Jia’er felt someone had thrown a powerful TNT into her mind and it was set off, with a boom.

She stood there in a trace for a few seconds before she came back to her senses. Gazing at Jin Xiangdong, her eyes were saying that she could not believe this. “Am I… really an AI?”
