Chapter 151: Awakening of Consciousness (8)
Jin Xiangdong looked at how shocked Lu Jia’er was. He understood Ian’s worry. Nevertheless, at the same time, another force inside him was urging him to tell her everything.
Jin Xiangdong nodded. “Yes.”
“My memories with you were replaced? How is that possible?” Lu Jia’er could not bring herself to believe this statement.
“I know that it is hard for you to accept.” Jin Xiangdong patted Lu Jia’er’s shoulder gently.
“Hypnosis?” The first idea came to Lu Jia’er’s mind was hypnosis.
Jin Xiangdong looked at her. He didn’t nod, or shake his head.
Lu Jia’er immediately remembered the last time Jin Xiangdong brought her to Liu Qiming for hypnosis. Liu Qiming arrived at the conclusion that she was not under hypnosis.
“It is not hypnosis!” Lu Jia’er negated this idea at once.
Jin Xiangdong put his arm around her shoulder. “Jia’er, I will be with you as you recover your memory.”
But Lu Jia’er would not give up. “You know how my memory was replaced, don’t you?”
As Jin Xiangdong gazed at Lu Jia’er, he hesitated for a second. If he had told her the answer directly, then it would affect the awakening of consciousness for Lu Jia’er to a certain extent. On the other hand, if he had kept such information, Lu Jia’er would try to get to the root of the issue no matter how.
For his selfish motives, Jin Xiangdong chose not to tell her the answer directly. “I am unaware of the details!”
Those words must lacked credibility because Lu Jia’er made another inquiry, “Then how did you know that my memory had been replaced”
“I realized that you had forgotten about me. I visited the hospital many times to check your medical records. Then, I tricked you into going to the hypnosis session but that was also a dead end. Afterwards, I visited Ian. However, he did not give me answers, either. It is just my speculation.”
“Speculation?” Lu Jia’er’s eyes twinkled.
“I cannot explain anything! The best I can do is to speculate!” Jin Xiangdong produced a remark, against his will.
Lu Jia’er stared at him. “Just speculation? Are you sure?”
Lu Jia’er, as a professor in psychology, could perform “mind-reading”. One slip and she could see through the lie.
For all this time, Jin Xiangdong had been tormented by the matter of losing Lu Jia’er. Now that she had come back to him, why wouldn’t he cherish this hard-earned quality time together? If he let this chance slip by, he might not get a second chance ever again.
Jin Xiangdong nodded, against his conscience. “Yes!”
Lu Jia’er’s looks were filled with confusion. She might not know the truth. But what was the truth?
Jin Xiangdong was so close to her. That tenderness in his eyes was enchanting. She lowered her head and looked at her hand in his. “I have treated you so coldly. It must have hurt you!” A moment later, she said.
Jin Xiangdong gazed at the side of her face and corrected her. “It did not just hurt me. I cried my heart out.”
Lu Jia’er could not help but burst into laughter when she heard this. “Was it really that bad?”
“I was forced to steal your kisses twice and both times, you slapped me. What do you think?” The corners of Jin Xiangdong’s mouth were curled up.
Speaking of that stolen kiss, Lu Jia’er involuntarily steered her looks towards Jin Xiangdong’s lips. They were sexy. One look and she was feeling the urge to kiss him.
After confirming that he was her boyfriend, she could not help but feel some sexual thoughts emerging in her heart. Was she like this before, or even more so?
Noticing that Lu Jia’er’s attention was on his lips, Jin Xiangdong grinned and then moved in closer.
Looking was not kissing.
Jin Xiangdong pressed his lips on hers. This time, the kiss was not offensive but it did come out from nowhere. In her mind, in her memory, Jin Xiangdong had still not replaced Ian completely. However, fortunately, her heart and her body no longer rejected him.
The kiss was gentle, passionate as well as overwhelming.
For Jin Xiangdong, Lu Jia’er was still the way she was. No matter what she was, his heart was still pounding for her. In his arms, she was no longer struggling or fighting back. In fact, she was welcoming the kiss.
He was fond of interactions like this. Subconsciously, he deepened the kiss. It was as if he had tasted rare gourmet food and did not want a single piece to go to waste. He had explored every corner of her mouth.
Guided by him, Lu Jia’er found herself lost, as if she was drunk on aged wine, she was intoxicated, drowning, and losing herself.
Losing herself! In an instant, she remembered a moment of intimacy between them!
He was her boyfriend! Her love!
She was fortunate that she had found out the truth in time. It was not too late. Otherwise, what should she do?
