Chapter 126 - Phantom Plan (6) (1/2)
Chapter 126: Phantom Plan (6)
“I knew it would be hard for you to accept this, but could Professor Lu be an industrial spy?” Jason nodded and said after he paused for a while.
Jason could not get over the incident where Jin Xiangdong’s notebook was hacked and asked again.
The notebook hacking was, no doubt, suspicious. Phone hacking after the notebook and the phantom email that Jason received had proved that the hacker was prominent.
Jin Xiangdong was unsure whether Lu Jia’er was actually an industrial spy, but, things had gotten more and more puzzling when Lu Jia’er suddenly suffered memory loss and had a boyfriend that simply no one knew where he came from.
“We shall wait and see.” Thinking of this, Jin Xiangdong knitted his brows together.
Jason nodded silently. The current situation had gone beyond their control. The hacker was so prominent and his skill was truly eye opening. Both of them could feel as if someone was squeezing their necks.
One week later, in the BUA Technology building.
Jin Xiangdong met Lu Jia’er in the company’s conference room. Lu Jia’er could remember her colleagues and everything in the office except him. Just like the day in the hospital, it was as if she had never met him before.
“Professor Lu, it’s been a week we did not meet each other. I miss you.” Li Zheng braced himself up and told Lu Jia’er.
Lu Jia’er merely chuckled. After the trip, the relationship between team members did improve.
“Professor Lu met with a car accident after returning from the trip,” Professor Li who was sitting opposite to her said.
Hearing this, everyone fixed their eyes at Lu Jia’er.
“Was it serious?” Li Zheng asked.
“If it was serious, I won’t be sitting here now,” Lu Jia’er said with a faint smile on her face.
“Professor Lu, why didn’t you tell us? We would have paid you a visit,” said Cai He.
“Yeah, you should tell us.”
“It’s just a minor car accident. I have fully recovered after resting for two days. Jason, Professor Li and Mr.Jin had visited me in the hospital. I could truly feel the care and spirit of the team.” Lu Jia’er smiled as she looked at Jin Xiangdong who was sitting at the head of the table.
Jason took a glance at Jin Xiangdong, whose face darkened a little.
Everyone was not aware of the things that happened this week except Jason and Jin Xiangdong. However, both of them still did not have a grasp of the whole situation.
“Let’s start the meeting.”Jin Xiangdong’s gaze swept past everyone as he said in a low voice.
Everyone stopped chatting and the meeting started.
Li Zheng and several staff members had presented their respective work. Jin Xiangdong looked at Lu Jia’er time and time again while listening to them whereas Lu Jia’er was listening very carefully and took notes from time to time.
The way she spoke and worked was the same as she used to and even her small gestures were extremely familiar to him. However, why would she be so cold and distant when she looked at him?
Was she acting on purpose or would it be the amnesia symptoms after the car accident?
Seeing Lu Jia’er talking happily with the rest, Jin Xiangdong knew it for the first time what was the feeling of being forgotten. The feeling was as if being neglected by the whole world.
The meeting ended after twenty minutes and everyone returned to their seats respectively.
Jason walked straight to Jin Xiangdong’s room and sat down.
“It seems like she has totally forgotten about you.” He stared at Jin Xiangdong for a long while before he said.
“I saw that she went for a full body computed tomography scan in the hospital the other day. The doctor said that she only had a mild concussion and that it would not lead to amnesia,” Jin Xiangdong said calmly.
“Is she acting?” Jason asked.
“If she were acting, she could definitely get the Oscar award,” Jin Xiangdong replied.
“What to do next?” Jason said as he stared at Jin Xiangdong. If Lu Jia’er was acting, she would have won the best actress award. However, it was always wise to play safe.
Naturally, Jin Xiangdong knew what Jason was worrying about. In fact, he was more eager to unmask this mystery than anyone else.
“Terminate her.” Jin Xiangdong pondered for a while.
“Terminate her? How would you tell the rest?” Jason did not expect that Jin Xiangdong was so decisive.
“Staff attrition is normal,” Jin Xiangdong answered.
“Well, it’s your call.” Jason stared at him.
