Chapter 101 (1/2)
”Woo!!!”
The long whistle woke Diana from her sleep, and then she saw a warship that was many times larger than a small sailboat, so slowly away from herself.
”What's that?” Looking at the white smoke from the huge chimney, Diana asked curiously.
”An armored cruiser of the Mediterranean fleet, one of the important bases for the British Empire to maintain world hegemony!” Fisher explained, holding a pile of Navy food and two woolen coats.
”I met this morning. This warship can only throw us this thing because it has to patrol. However, we are almost to Gibraltar. There should be a free warship to send us!”
”Why should they obey your orders?” Looking at the canned salted beef in her hand, Diana was puzzled.
”Because of my rank, although there are as many colonels as dogs in the British army, they are at least an officer. With a little booty, these guys who wander around the sea all day will naturally agree!” Fisher took out his tin knife, opened the tin, inserted a spoon and handed it to Diana.
”Try it. English cans are not very good, but they can make do with it!”
The canned beef with heavy oil, salt and a pile of chemical raw materials didn't brighten Diana's eyes. She just tasted it hastily and then put down the can.
”You all eat such food in the army?”
”The food is already good!” Fisher sat on the barrel in the bow of the ship, biting a fork and eating, ”the war that affected dozens of countries, the agriculture was destroyed, and the big soldiers on the front line were as happy as Christmas!”
”Mouse? What about civilians? ”
”Civilians, let alone civilians. The farmland has been baptized again and again by artillery and poison gas. What food can be planted? The war has been fought for four years. The two sides involved in the war are now looking at who can survive. The agreement is better. The allies have no food, no drink, no resources, and no evil ways. They can't stick to it!” As he talked, Fisher directly dropped the can and analyzed the current situation in detail.
”Mankind is always repeating the same tragedy. Perhaps ares is adding fuel to the fire, but the real reason for the outbreak of this war is mankind's endless greed!”

The next afternoon
Diana was still thinking about what Fisher said yesterday when she was sent ashore by a Royal Navy communication ship.
Then she was startled by the sudden salute.
”What is this?” Subconsciously, Diana, who was about to put her hand to her back and draw her sword, pointed to the noisy onlookers on the shore and asked curiously.
”Should have come to meet me!” Fisher himself didn't think about it. He just sent a telegram to the Army Department in Gibraltar, saying that he had returned from a lost voyage. How did he become like this again.
”Lawrence of Arabia!” As soon as the trestle touched the shore, two or three bearded British generals gathered around and began to praise Fisher. Fisher, who was confused, knew that rudendorff had put himself on a reward.
