教皇とは数十カ国に拡がる信徒を束ねる宗教勢力の頂点であり、彼らミスラ教徒が崇める『神』へと連なる最高位の聖なる巫女.

そして、伝説の『長耳族(エルフ)』の血をその身に宿し生きる『半不死族(ハーフエルフ)』は生まれながらにして聖なる者であり、特別な力を宿し、神にもっとも近き者. そう云われる.

だが巷に流布されている常識(それ)と、直接対峙した時の実際の印象が大きく違っていることを王は識っている.
