49 Alyssa is a criminal? (2/2)

The vampire became confused. Seeing his confused expression Alyssa chuckled and said, ”You are surrounded by 'Electret'. It is something I made. You will get a huge current shock if you will move. The shock is so powerful that it will burn your body in crisps.”

She looked at his face which was not showing any signs of panic or fear. She assumed that he was calling her a bluff.

Alyssa gritted her teeth at this though. She said, ”You don't believe me. Why don't you just move your body a bit?”

After the naming ceremony, it was like a switch has been flipped inside Alyssa. She had become more regal and her temperament has flared too. Previously she would let the matter aside if someone insults her or doesn't believe her. But now she would not take these matters as insignificant. There is a fire in her to prove herself. Maybe it is because of her status or because of the power which is gradually increasing inside her day by day. But whatever is it, it is making her more stubborn and determined, in a good way.

The vampire growled once again but remained seated. After a few moments, he opened his mouth to speak, ”Jake”.

”Hmm… what?” Alyssa asked not catching the words properly.

”It's Jake. My name,” he said in a low threatening voice.

”Oh! I am Alyssa and this is my friend Noah.” She said pointing her finger at Noah.

”What do you want?” Jake asked once again.

”Nothing… nothing exactly,” Alyssa replied.

Her reply baffled him because this was not going according to the book. Under any circumstances, he could never fantom this thought that his kidnappers will kidnap him on a whim or something by risking their lives and will not want anything in return.

Seeing his confused face Noah chuckled and explained, ”We just want to capture you and monitor the situation outside. We just want to ensure that you are not a threat to us.”

”I am not. I am not the killer. I was sent by my government to track them and kill them before they could do any more damage leading to the dissolving of our peace treaty.” ”So, please let me go.” He pleaded.

”How do we know you are telling the truth?” Alyssa turned around from her seat and faced him.

Jake remained silent. He has nothing except words. And he knew that just based on words they will not believe him.

”Smart!” Alyssa complimented. She knew exactly why he fell silent.

She approached him and said, ”It's not that I don't want to believe you but I think the situation is not right. You don't have your identity proof with you so that makes you a suspect. And secondly, you said you are here to hunt the killers but you are alone here instead of Coral Bell's force unit, and third when you got hit you didn't go to any hospital instead you hid in a forest.” She looked straight in his eyes and said, ”Am I correct Mr. Jake.”

She tilted her head sideways and said, ”And I bet Jake is not your real name.”

Her every statement was to the point and it completely shocked Jake. It was not the first time he was on a mission and it was definitely not the first time where he had got caught. But despite these, he had never met anybody who would deduce the whole story just by looking through some clues. To get answers for him they have to apply force and it takes weeks and months unlike her who could see everything in minutes.

From the looks of it, she didn't seem to be lined in any criminal activity. She was graceful and delicate, just like a lady. Not couth and unpolished like the other criminals. Her presence in the room was a mystery to him. From the looks of it, she could pass as some noble lady but her mind which was so precise and her knowledge says something else.

'But who knows what secrets does she holds and looks could be a diversion.' This is all he could think.

Jake looked around the room. There were a lot of computers, other related types of equipment, and surveillance monitors around him. He further found a bed and other household necessities around him which made him incline towards his criminal hypothesis.

In the eyes of Jake Alyssa and Noah were cyber hackers and criminals on the run from the government and they were building some kind of bomb or something in this abandoned place.

His suspicion grew more accurate when he saw Alyssa coding something on her computer at lightning speed and Noah testing his newly built taser. For him, they were not just regular criminals but the most dangerous ones. His all senses became alert for the incoming danger.

He looked around for something to be used as a weapon. There were many things around him but none of them were within his reach. He wanted to get off from his chair and grab the nearest thing and smash their pretty little heads but then his eyes locked with the six big glaring tasers around him.
