47 Vampire Attack! (1/2)
Alyssa plopped on her bed after returning to her home. She was still banting and was sweaty from the panic she had undergone today. Her mobile phone pinged with a new message. She groaned and took the phone out from her purse. There was a notification of one unread message. She opened the app and found that it was from Noah.
'Come here as soon as you get this. Hurry!'
Seeing this message, she panicked. 'Was he in some difficult situation? What would have happened?' Various thousand negative thoughts crossed her mind like lightning. She hurriedly grabbed her purse and ran from the house.
”Noah? Are you alright?” she called as soon as she entered her hiding place.
But instead of some dangerous situation, she was greeted by a grinning Noah. She sighed in relief but soon anger boiled in her. She shouted, ”What the hell Noah? You know how worried I was. Who sends a message like that?”
Noah realized his mistake and pouted, ”Sorry. I was just so happy that I called you in haste.”
His pouting face calmed Alyssa instantly. ”It's alright. What is it?” she questioned.
”I got the contract from a famous company regarding our invention. They will help us build the taser and in return, they will need twenty percent of our profit. The tasers will be launched after two days in the market.” Noah explained everything in a single breath.
”That's awesome Noah. Well done!” Alyssa cheered him. She was elated too. ”What's the company's name?” she asked with interest.
”The only famous company in this continent. Roosevelt Corporations.” Noah answered.
Hearing the name of the country Alyssa was once again reminded of her kiss. She blushed. She turned around from Noah to cover her blush and said, ”Show me the contract.”
”Here it is.” Noah picked the contract from the table and walked towards Alyssa. He was excited and was in a hurry. His all attention was on Alyssa. His left foot was caught in the wires and he stumbled. To prevent himself from falling, Noah tried to grab something and his hand banged on a wall. He couldn't find it to support himself and fell on the floor. Alyssa turned in the direction of the noise. After Noah fell, a high pitch screeching noise rumbled in the room making both of them jump out of their skin.
”What's happening?” Noah shouted.
”I don't know. Maybe this place is falling.” Alyssa said loudly over the screeching voice to make her voice audible.
”Run!” Noah took Alyssa's hand and turned towards the exit.
It was then they saw a wall sliding. They stopped. Once the wall stopped sliding, the screeching voice stopped too and a hidden chamber was discovered.
Both of them looked at each other and simultaneously went into the chamber.
”Just how many secret chambers does this place holds?” Noah asked curiously.
Alyssa ignored his question. Her eyes were roaming around the chamber. The chamber was small. Racks were made on its walls and piles of papers filled these walls. There was a stone table in the middle of the room. On the table, there were some unburnt candles. There were solidified waxes at different places. From the looks of it, it seemed to her that this chamber was frequently used. Near the candles was a book which was the only thing that was different in the room. They were not the type of papers that they were using in the current generation. They were scrolls made of bamboos and other materials. Alyssa took one of the scrolls from its pile. She blew the dust from its surface making both Noah and herself cough a little. She carefully kept it on the table and slowly opened it. There were some pictures drawn and something was written around the drawing.
”It's pre-Asterosian language.” Noah provided the answer she was looking for.
