107 A Fight She Couldn’t Win Alone (1/2)
Yeo Ri was on the verge of breaking down as Lee Do Joon led her to an empty alley, removing them from public sight.
Her hands gripped the straps of her schoolbag tightly, turning her knuckles white. She took deep, heavy breaths as she tried to control her increasing heartbeat and weakening legs.
Lee Do Joon, from start to finish, kept his hand stuck on her shoulder, making them appear somewhat close. If there was anyone who were looking at them up front, they could have easily notice that something fishy was going on. The girl was trembling perceptibly, looking deathly afraid, despite the man's perfectly normal demeanour.
Reaching to a secluded alleyway, Lee Do Joon finally dropped all pretences. He pushed her against the wall, smiling wretchedly.
”Long time no see, my sweet Yeo Ri-ah.”
”...!” Yeo Ri bit her tongue, muffling her scream. Her breathing roughened as she attempted to push the man away.
”Did you think you can run away, Yeo Ri-ah?” The man drawled, caressing her cheeks lovingly. But then, a second afterwards, he forcefully grabbed her chin. ”Think again, you little sl*t. Now that I've gotten my hands on you, I'm never going to let you run away again.”
”N-no!” Yeo Ri tried to avoid him. He was locking her in place but her hands were still free. She quickly fumbled for her phone that was inside her coat's pocket.
Thwack!
Lee Do Joon easily slapped the phone out of her hand, sending it flying. It broke uselessly after crashing into the pavement, destroying Yeo Ri's hope of ever calling for help.
”A phone?” He growled. ”Since when did you have that? Are you trying to rebel against me, Yeo Ri-ah?”
”Hic—!” Yeo Ri gasped fearfully.
He slammed her harder on the concrete wall, making her want to curl up from the pain.
He released his hold, and Yeo Ri fell to the ground weakly. She shivered as pain coursed through her back. It felt as if her bones had cracked.
Through the pain and tears, Yeo Ri hurriedly scrambled for her bag. Luckily, she had brought along the things that Gun had supplied her for self-defence, and even her knife had been brought along... as protection.
With trembling hands, she quickly pulled out the first item that her hands could reach: the taser.
”D-don't come closer!” She screamed, pointing the taser towards the man.
She switched it on, holding it as if it was a gun. Seeing that the man did not move, she grabbed her bag with one hand and crawled away from him.
Lee Do Joon's expression darkened. ”Ha. Where did you get this toy from? Do you think that it's enough?” He laughed derisively, ”Keep dreaming, sl*t.”
Without warning, he lunged for the taser.
Yeo Ri managed to singe him, but the voltage was not enough to thwart him.
