68 Leaving Home (1/2)
When the two finished eating, they finally returned home. Since they took their sweet time, they returned rather late.
Hyuk kept Yeo Ri close by his side and never released her hand. Together, they skulked towards the bedroom.
With the tapes removed, it was easy to see the damage which it had been dealt.
The sliding door was slightly bent and hanging off its hinges. If that man decided to break in again, it would only take a small push.
Clearly, the room was no longer their safe haven.
”Pack you things,” he instructed Yeo Ri. ”Take only what you need.”
Yeo Ri nodded. She moved to pull out a luggage bag from the closet, then filled it up with a few sets of clothing.
Pausing slightly, she turned to Hyuk who was also busying himself with packing, ”what about Gun-oppa's things?”
Hyuk turned to look at her after thinking for a bit. ”Pack his' too.”
Yeo Ri nodded. She took out Gun's clothes and stuffed them into the bag as well.
They didn't own a lot of clothes, and she had only packed a portion of what they owned. There was still some space left. She looked at Gun's desk with a complicated expression. How was she going to fit all of those into the bag? They were all very important things.
She immediately gathered up all the certificates and packed them together. These were the proof of Gun's excellence. If they were leaving the house for good, then she had to take them with her. She carefully tucked the certificates under the clothes. Although it was a pity, there was not enough space for the trophies so she had to leave those behind. She sighed as she glanced at the stacks of workbooks and notebooks.
These were the blood, sweat and tears of her brother. To leave them all behind was just... sad. However, she had to keep going.
Yeo Ri continued going through Gun's desk, searching for something that he might need. Finding nothing of the utmost importance, Yeo Ri turned to the drawers.
”...?”
There was something wrapped with a handkerchief inside one of the drawers. It looked fairly important so Yeo Ri decided to pick it up.
