Chapter 49 - Wilderness (3) (1/2)

(3rd person's POV)

Not too away far from the camp, a couple was holding hands with each other. They lying down on the grassy plain while silently staring at the night sky.

In front of them was a dark blue lake, mirroring the dazzling glimmer of starlights. The occasional faint winds brushed against the water's surface, creating beautiful ripples as if the stars themselves were rocking gently with the waves.

Above them, the stars were flickering in various light—red, blue, orange, white. With no cloud glooming over the sky, everything was in full view. And it just so happened that today was a full moon, a super moon at that.

All of these scenes blended together, creating a gorgeous scenery.

But in their eyes, the scenery was just a background, a minor setting. It was not significant, and its only job was to make things feel more pleasing.

All they're caring for is to be with each other.

No matter what. No matter where. No matter when. No matter why...

For him, she is one of the reasons why he's living. Her cute smile, her look, her soul, her existence, and above all—her love. He loves each of her imperfections, even if it's wrong. And as each day passing by, he began to discover more of her. Her once apathetic personality was now replaced with one much more charming liveliness. The color of her soul was blooming brighter, in a more heartening manner. And he was proud... as she is the very definition that a person can change.

And without any less, the girl loves him just as much. He had pulled her out of a miserable hellhole. He gave her a purpose. A reason to live. A family... And all those years that she was deprived of freedom, she was finally given a chance to pursue her own happiness. All because of him. Though she couldn't give much back, she will prove to him—that she's not just a weak girl who needed protection. One day, with her strength, she will be able to stand on her own and maybe even protect her lover.

Right at this moment, they have never loved each other any less, nor would it ever show a hint of it fading away.

The couple was simply just enjoying their time together. It was rare for them to be alone, and today, they were going to savor it slowly...

”Can you make my brėȧst bigger?”

Out of nowhere, Historia suddenly asked this one random, yet awkward question.

They have been contemplating in silence while admiring at the beautiful night sky. And for two hours straight, they didn't speak one word to another.

Yet... This happened.

”It's just... mine is so small. Do you like small brėȧsts?”

”*Cough*, *Cough*, Ahem. Well, everybody got their own perks. You don't have to worry about them.”

”Really?” Historia replied with a questioning look. If there's one thing she knew, it's that her boyfriend likes bigger brėȧsts. After all, she caught his eyes trailing toward those massive peaks belonging to Mikasa quite a couple of times.

”Yes. Breasts or no brėȧsts. You are still you.” Then Athanatos said it with confidence. But behind that look, you can see a hint of happiness. He was clearly happy that he managed to say a really profound phrase.
