The Ackermann Clan are known for their strength because long ago, they did a weird experiment. After the experiment was finished, these Ackermann somehow managed to tap into the power of the titan, which gives them tremendous power. However, this power is not without a side effect. To gain this power, you need a 'host' you want to protect. The original Mikasa wanted to protect Eren so she got power. This is also the reason why when Eren found out about this 'curse', he started to treat Mikasa bad.

In my novel's case, Mikasa's 'host' was her mom. But then Athanatos removed this flaw so Mikasa's power is more refined and almost flawless.

There's more reason to this but I will tell you later. It might spoil some stuff.”
