Chapter 5 - Learning (1/2)
(MC's POV)
It's been 3 months since I have lived together with the Ackermann family. They're a nice group of people. Mikan, Mikasa's mom, has been teaching me how to gardening and taking care of crops. It's not bad. I never thought one day I would be something like a farmer. It's really not bad at all.
Mikasa was in charge of teaching the Eldian language, which I feel was very... inefficient. It's not like the language itself is hard, but it takes too many strokes and syllables just to make up a word. Other than that, it also looks like wiggling lines, unlike the language I have seen in my memory.
And right now, I'm learning how to hunt without using my power. It seems that, besides those titans outside of the wall, there's no supernatural being, am I unique?
---------------------------------
”Don't confront the enemies head-on! Flank them on the side and use the trees to your advantage! Keep your breathing steady so they won't expect you!” (Karl)
Goddamn it! Stop yelling. You're scaring the animals.
And so I did what I was told. Using my 'unique body', I did a 3 meters jump to one of the trees and keep following the deer. Even though such a jump would have left a small crater and a loud boom, there's no such thing.
I'm 100% sure this thing is not normal, well... titans aren't normal either. I discovered this fact accidentally one day when I was testing my power. I tried to fly but such a technique was a bit beyond my current comprehension, even though my memory made it so simple. When my control was a bit off, I feel down with an extremely high speed. Such an event would have normally killed me, if I didn't have such a godly regeneration, but the impact unexpected never happen. I think this is how I fell down from the sky when I was unconscious and still survive. It seems that when an impact happened, it releases a physical force and somehow I managed to absorb it into my body and tempers it, which would explain why there is little force to be made when there should have been an explosion.
Back to the present. I was hiding away from the deer's pov. Since I was instructed not to use my power and destroy the poor animal, I decided to use rocks to my advantage. Picking up one about the size of my palm, I threw it at accurately at its head.
Bam!
Bullseye. It seems I manage to impress Mr. Ackermann, hehe.
”That's was a good shot Athanatos-kun.”
He gave me a warm smile. After living with them for 3 months, I found that they were a very heartwarming family. They treated me like their son, which I feel was kind of strange since I wasn't even one.
