Chapter 118 - Harvested A Potato (1/2)
”I don't mind…”
Yanee was having a sister appreciation moment so she wouldn't mind the little things.
”Well, if you're sure, then inform the manager that you don't mind. I will send you your modeling fees later, okay?” Ami said and Yanee quickly protested.
”What fees are you talking about?”
”Your catalogue modeling fees,” Ami told her, her voice amused.
”I don't need it okay?”Yanee countered but Ami laughed.
”Well, I knew you would say that and would be stubborn about it,” Ami agreed.
Just as when Yanee thought her sister would back off with payment, she realized she was wrong.
”We'll just chalk it up to me owing you. You have a free wedding planning and events coordination that I will personally handle, okay?” Ami told her making her panic.
”What are you talking about? Who's getting married?” she asked.
”Oooooh, little sister, did you honestly believe I didn't know that you've recently harvested a potato?” Ami teased and Yanee could very much visualize how she looked like.
Evil. Evil. Evil.
Ami's pair of devil horns, fangs, and little bat wings were out.
”What potato harvest are you talking about,” she grumbled but it was futile to deny it, she knew. After all, she was the one who told Ami about the potato when she was depressed about him.
Also, Chummy must have already told her about Tohru.
”The potato from the interview, your boss, your boyfriend, and now, your future husband,” Ami answered in a sing-song tone of voice making Yanee panic.
”What are you talking about? We just started dating yesterday,” Yanee hissed on the phone and stopped as she realized she spilled the beans.
”AHA! I knew it!” Ami gloated.
Urgh…
Evil. Evil. Evil.
”In any case, the events planning and coordination is on me, got it?” Ami reminded her seriously and Yanee didn't have the mental strength to rebut that. ”I already told the manager I will take everything you tried on today. Also, get the account number from the manager. I will wire her the fees.”
Huh?
”But you already wired me three hundred million. Why would you still wire them the money? I will pay here,” Yanee insisted.
She didn't know what Ami's thinking but it seemed it's related to the business. But she already had the money with her. It's stupid not to use it to pay. But Ami laughed.
”Don't fret little sister. You may use the money I sent you to pay for the kimonos today. But I still need their account number since I will be ordering more from their store soon,” Ami said enigmatically but Yanee could also hear confidence in them and she realized now why.
Her sister was a hundred percent sure she'd be able to sell kimonos after the expo. Yanee couldn't help but admire her sister's grit again. She wondered when she'd be able to develop the same confidence as she had— not just at work but also personal relationships.
”Alright. I'll do that,” Yanee agreed and she ended the call, but not before Ami teased her one last time before hanging up.
”We have a grilling session about potatoes when you return little sister. Be prepared.”
Urgh…
Yanee could already imagine what would happen when she returned to Tokyo. In spite of being an infamous dragon demoness, Ami was a closet romantic who drank romance web novels by the tank. It's why she became an events planner in the first place.
Placing the phone in her pocket, she gave out a small sigh as she thought of the coming hot seat interview with Ami.
Unbeknownst to Yanee, as soon as she left to talk to Yanee, the ladies began gossiping amongst themselves.
”How was it?” Mrs. James asked and Shiori, the manager giggled like a girl.
”Ami Lee was surprisingly easy to talk to,” the manager informed them, and when they looked at her with expressions eager for gossip, she told them what they talked about.
