Chapter 955: Rejecting the Kings offer (1/2)

Initially, King Stephen was expecting one of the disciples from the top secrets to win the Champion's contest; however, who would have thought that the entire top ranking would be dominated by the disciples of the vagrant cultivators.

As for the first position, it was occupied by Ajax, a squad member of the Hazegroove mercenary squad.

If any of the disciples were to get the first rank in the contest, King Stephen wanted him to marry Princess Daphne and join the royal family.

Even though he could betroth Princess Daphne to Ajax, there was not much information on Ajax.

'If only I gained much information on Ajax, I would have directly made him my successor by giving the royal family to him.'

Looking at Ajax, King Stephen muttered to himself.

'Also, what a waste of time to send him into the Sacred Pool. There was no change in his cultivation even after staying in the Sacred Pool.'

King  Stephen shook his head before asking his master, 'Master, what should I do now?'

'Idiot. He is not as simple as he looks. Even I am unable to see through him. Maybe, you can use your useless daughter to pull him into our family.'

However, his master's words made King Stephen raise his brows.

'That's right! How could his cultivation remain the same even after staying in the Sacred Pool for an entire week? Even a rank 1 spirit beast will reach rank 4 or even rank 5, so, there is really something wrong with him.'

After pondering his master's words, King Stephen came to a sudden revelation making him feel Ajax was somewhat special.

With that thought in his mind, King Stephen walked towards Ajax.

As for Ajax, Princess Daphne introduced him to the Old man Lin.

”Ajax, are you willing to join the Royal family?”

Without wasting any time, King Stephen asked Ajax with a serious look on his face.

”Your majesty...”

”Before you give your answer, I will say another thing. If you join the royal family, I will allow you to marry my daughter Daphne since she has taken quite a liking to you after coming out of  the inheritance ground.”

Before Ajax could finish his words, King Stephen interrupted Ajax as he said something that gave Ajax quite a surprise.

Even though King Stephen didn't have a close relationship with his daughter, he always kept an eye on her and he guessed Princess Daphne might have developed feelings for Ajax.

'Why is he asking me to join his family? Did he find out about the system? No, looks like my cultivation might be the reason.'

Ajax looked at King Stephen for a moment before looking at Princess Daphne whose face completely turned into bright red.

'What will he say? Will he agree? I don't want him to agree for the sake  of joining the royal family.'

'It will make me the bargaining tool I imagined.'

'But why do I want him to agree to my father's suggestion at the same time?'

As for Princess Daphne, her head was completely in a mess as many thoughts flashed in her head.
