The king of the spirit beasts that rule the inner section of the cursed wilderness had three powerful guardians that were on par with the spirit beast kings under him.

Abyss minotaur, a spirit beast that resembles a wild bull that could destroy anything in its way.

Serpent imp, a mutated snake-type spirit beast that has a demon bloodline in it.

And the third guardian who was also the leader of them, Star lynx, a spirit beast which was even more powerful than the strongest beast king under the king of the spirit beasts.

They didn't use human forms because they loathe humans and if by any chance any human appears in front of then, they could play with him before killing him.

”Star Lynx, I was allowed by the king himself to call him as Big brother,”

How could the forest fairy king agree to such a death sentence without any retortion? So, he dodged the attacks from the two guardians, Abyss minotaur and Serpent imp while shouting at Star Lynx.

”My king was just saying that casually and you dare to call him by that? You deserve to die,”

This time, the star lynx himself ran towards Geron, baring his teeth at him.

”Wait...”

Before Geron could finish his words, the star lynx swiped his lynx claw at Geron and made a pretty deep cut on his chest.

”Aargh”

Geron was the most powerful spirit beast in the middle section of the cursed wilderness; however, in the inner section of the cursed wilderness, he was the weakest one that any spirit beast king could kill him.

”Why do you want to kill me?”

Geron could sense an intense killing intent from the three guardians as he didn't want why they wanted to kill him.

”Didn't I already say the reason for your death sentence? Don't play dumb, Geron,”

Star lynx looked at Geron as he revealed a low growl.

'Is he thinking I am that dumb to believe his reason for killing?'

Stopping the bleeding coming out from this wound, Geron scoffed at the three guardians as he started to think of the real reason for their full killing intent towards him.

”You are still thinking?”

Start lynx didn't attack Geron anymore as he waited for Geron to realize the true reason for their killing intent.

'Wait a second,'

All of a sudden, Geron realized something that made him understand why these guardians who were usually friendly with him turned hostile all of sudden.

”So, you finally got it, I guess,”

Star lynx revealed a satisfied look on his cat-face as he continued, ”Since you already got the answer then you can finally die now,”

As soon as he finished his words, the star lynx signalled the other two guardians to kill Geron.

'Swoosh'

'Thud'

Serpent imp was moved without making any sound; however, that was not the case for the abyss minotaur.

Each time he took a step forward, the ground would shake.

'So, that is the reason why they are not allowing me to meet the king. No wonder, I am not even getting my share of cultivation resources properly from that time,'

As for Geron, he dodged the incoming attacks and started thinking about the day this all started.

According to Geron, it all started when his son was elevated to another province. When it happened a couple of years ago, the king of the spirit beasts praised Geron for raising such a son and at the same time allowed Geron to call him 'Big brother'.

This thing displeased all the spirit beasts under the king and even guardians didn't like Geron.
