In general, the mutated demon servant would have easily escaped from the skill 'Absolute darkness' with his cultivation level which was a peak elite commander realm and only one step away from reaching the general realm.
Moreover, he was a mutated one that had more resistance than many other common demon servants.
However, he was already affected by the side-effects of the rage potion which made him fully vulnerable to the effects of the skill 'Absolute darkness'.

As soon as the mutated demon servant died, as usual, Ajax got a couple of system notifications.
Although the first system notification was a common one, the second notification made him raise his brows.
However, Ajax didn't bother to check it as he knew Edmond and others were looking at him. So, he randomly talked about something.
Nevertheless, without much information from the system, Ajax assumed that this mutated demon servant that he killed just now was equal to five normal demon servants according to the system.
”So, what shall we do now?”
After talking for a few minutes, Ajax asked Edmond about their next plan while looking at his surroundings.
Around him, all the nine young cultivators remained in a motionless position as they were awakening something.
The demon servant was still rolling on the ground with painful cries while the demon army almost crossed them when they were making a deal with the mutated demon servant.
So, Ajax asked whether they should stop the demon army from exiting the cursed wilderness or wait until the nine young cultivators wake up from their awakening.
'Hmm,' Edmond thought for a moment before looking at the mutated demon servant and the demon army that was at a distance from them, then said, 'Let's wait until they finish their awakening process.'
Although stopping the demon army was important; what's more important for Edmond was to protect his adopted children from the next batch of the demons which might come in any moment now.
So, he stopped everyone from moving away from their position and asked all of them to protect the nine young cultivators.

Ajax and Udo nodded their heads in agreement with Edmond's words before Ajax walked towards the three cultivators that were selected by the Barbarian earlier.
Everyone one moved back to their positions and relaxed as there was no sign of any demonic army from the portal.

Ajax sat near to the Dark flame along with Justice before asking the system to show his progress on the bonus mission.
When he killed the mutated demon servant, he got a notification saying that his target count had been increased by 5. So, he wanted to check how many demon servants he had to kill before completing the target.
