'Huh?'
Just as the elite demon general thought to kill the demon killer in the future, he heard some noises from some distance and immediately hidden and slowly looked in the direction of those noises.
Although he had the strength of an elite general realm, he valued his life more than anything. So, he was very careful even when he was relaxing.
In that direction, he saw six silhouettes running towards the exit direction of the cursed wilderness.
”Huh? She looks familiar,” In the front most, the demon saw a familiar-looking human lady and immediately his eyes lit up.
'So what if you have saved the demon killer, Mercenary king. I will go for another one of your top captains...hehe,' Looking at the middle-aged human woman and five other humans, the demon cunningly smiled as he followed them secretly without alarming the group of humans.
That group of humans were none other than 'Blood Rose' mercenary squad members and the familiar looking middle-aged woman that the demon saw was the captain of the Blood rose mercenary squad, Madam Blood rose.
'I think, I better follow them and know why they are in such a hurry,' the elite demon not only valued his life but he was also a very curious one. So, even when he could sneak up on the 'Blood Rose' mercenary squad members, he quietly followed them.
”Captain, can I ask you something? Answer me only if you are comfortable with it,”
The squad members didn't know that one of the elite demon generals was following them secretly and fully focused on running behind their captain. Among the five squad members, one woman, who was just behind the blood rose, slowly asked her captain.
”Hmm”
Blood rose quietly nodded her head and gave a green signal to her squad member to ask a question.
After she left the fire sword sect, she formed the 'Blood Rose' mercenary squad as her home and considered all the squad members were her family members. So, she gave permission to the woman, who was just behind her.
”Are we going to help Captain Edmond, now?” She slowly asked her captain after hesitating for a moment.
”I thought it will be some other question.” She bitterly shook her head and thought that she would ask something different before nodding her head and said, ”Yes.”
Blood rose simply gave a single word answer that made all other squad members puzzle a little.
According to their knowledge, Captain Edmond was never close with any of the other top mercenary squad captains. Whenever they met, they would have some normal conversation; however, seeing the present worried look on their captain's face, they knew there was something more between their captain and captain Edmond.
”Actually, that is not my real question,” The woman who asked the previous question embarrassed a little before asking, ”What is the relationship between you and Captain Edmond?”
'Huh?'
As soon as she heard her squad member's question, the blood rose slowed her speed a little as she raised her brows and thought, 'Finally, someone asked...sigh'
Inside her heart, she sighed as people would notice something was between them if they were close. That's the reason, she avoided him and always took the missions that were very far from here.
”I will say after we help him,”
She didn't remain silent nor explain their relationship to her squad members but asked them to wait as she knew that she needed to explain about some of her past events to her squad members, who never asked her about anything and loyally followed her for more than three years.
