13 Military Tension – 2 (1/2)
(3° person POV)
- This sucks man. – Complained the soldier, cleaning his sword from goblin blood. – And this city was nice too.
His friend, finishing a goblin with a severed leg, frowned as he pulled the sword from the flesh of the monster, ending its life.
- And since when you were so concerned about this town anyway? You and your family are from the capital.
The soldier shook his head, sighing, making a scornful face, immediately annoying his comrade.
- you don't understand. This city was amazing on its own rights, you know? – He shrugged. – You just had to know how to appreciate it!
The other man looked at him with a doubtful look, before realizing it.
- You had a prostitute that you liked here, didn't you?
- Ugh, shut up! – The other said, busted.
Both laughed, exchanging some more banter as they killed some more goblins and other monsters with ease. These two, after all, are part of the veteran unit of the kingdom, and are used to fight monsters on the daily.
They are now on cleaning duty, finishing the monsters there were left since their last fight to purge the monsters from town. As they finish killing a small group of monsters, one of the asks:
- So, what about those students again?
- It'll be our cover, that's why we're dressed as common soldiers, not in our elite armors. – He said as he sheathed the sword, looking to the forest not too far from them. – Those filthy animals managed to run away, but since it isn't inside our borders…
- We can't chase them outright. – He scratched his head while crouched near a corpse of a monster. – Fucks sake, those slaves had to run away, didn't they? Well, when we get to them I'll get some bastard children of my own.
He said, smiling cruelly. After all, he was a slave owner… or a former one, his last slave passed away recently as result of his violence. His comrade only smiled, similar thoughts flowing through his mind. After all, this behavior is often encouraged in this kingdom.
(Vlad's POV)
- Focus, now. – I said to my ”students”. – Ignore the sensorial stimuli, focus on your own minds. Feel the world around you, expand your minds.
