Chapter 45 - You Have Me Now (2/2)
How foolish! Why would Jasper choose that conniving woman than Luna? However, that was fine with Hero. Jasper threw a treasure that landed willingly on his own hands. He wouldn't make the same mistake Jasper did.
”Fine, I give you my word. Don't worry about other women. This would be the least of your concern.”
One woman was already enough to give him a headache anyway, and with the kind of daughter he had, Amber didn't accept anyone until she met Luna Jiang.
”Lastly, please don't disclose our marriage to the public unless it's necessary. Our marriage was too soon. I don't want people to start rumors and gossip about it.”
Knowing it might be overheard by little Amber, Luna wanted her from the public's judgmental opinions over her marriage.
”Deal.”
As soon as both parties agreed with the rules, Hero opened the room across Amber's room, lit the lights on, and let his wife in.
”This is your room. Unless you're ready to share your bed with me, you may stay here,” he said nonchalantly, pleased at how Luna blushed on his words.
Luna forced herself to ignore Hero's teasing and looked around. The room itself was fully furnished. Although she was the daughter of a businessman, she was never pampered to this extent.
Her room was carpeted with white wool. She estimated that the room itself was over 80 square meters, which was larger than her previous apartment. There was a queen-size bed installed in the middle while a dresser… a wardrobe was placed on the right side of the room. The wardrobe has dresses and clothes in her size.
Luna gasped as she checked the tags and labels. These kinds of clothes… she'd never been able to afford it with her salary. She frequently saw Sienna wearing these designer brand clothes. It must cost Hero a fortune to purchase all of these.
On her left, a small living room and a door leading to the bathroom could be found. Aside from that, the room had a balcony where she could see the perfect scenery once the sun rises.
”If you find something lacking, you only need to tell me so I can arrange it,” Hero told her as she threw herself over the soft bed. She rolled on her back and stared at the white ceiling above her.
”This is more than enough for me, Mr. Li,” Luna replied. For someone who'd recently lost her home, this room was indeed more than what she could ask for. She closed her eyes, feeling exhausted from the long day she endured.
”Mr. Li? My dear wife, you better address me properly.”
”Yes, milord. Please let this subject of yours rest.”
Noticing the sadness on her voice, Hero sat at the edge of the bed and ran the back of his forefinger on her cheek. Luna stirred but didn't open her eyes. She was dead tired that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillows.
Hero leaned forward and was about to kiss her parted lips but stopped. Instead, he watched as her ċhėst heaved as she slept. His deep onyx eyes set on her face.
”Since you married me, I ȧssure you'll never lack for something in the future. It's enough that you have me now. You wouldn't need to suffer in the future.”
