Chapter 20 - Wrapped Around Her Finger (1/2)
After receiving Hero's suggestion, Joanna really did ask for Luna's contact number from her mother. She was really glad that Luna took her call after sending a short notice to her inbox, letting her know about Amber's situation. She was now waiting at the hospital lobby, looking around for Luna.
Ah, she really hoped that Luna wouldn't back down on her promise to help her. Amber wasn't in a good condition, and her body started to weaken again. Joanna hoped Luna could convince Amber to eat her meals and listen to her doctors.
Her face instantly brightened up when she saw Luna looking for her.
”Miss Jiang!” she called out and walked towards Luna. ”I'm so glad you're here. You don't know how much this means to me. Come, Amber is really eager to see you, but I have no idea why she insists to meet you.”
”It's alright. I'm sorry for giving you problems.”
”Not at all. I should be the one apologizing to you. Your mother said you're busy, but because of Amber, you have to make time to meet her.” Joanna led the way back to Amber's room.
The scene that greeted them wasn't the one she expected to see. She thought Amber would be happy once Luna arrived, but Amber decided to throw another fit, pushing her meals to the floor with a loud crash. Her nanny couldn't do anything to stop her.
”What is this?” Luna scowled. Was this how they treat Amber? Letting her do whatever she wants? Did someone from their family even bother to teach this kid some manners? Amber was clearly a rich spoiled kid.
Hearing Luna's voice from the door, Amber lifted up her face and saw the woman she'd been looking for. She was really happy, but when she saw the unimpressed look Luna had on her face, she started to cry. Her tears did nothing to waver Luna's position.
”Young lady, your aunt here requested me to pay you a visit. Is this how you treat your visitors? And didn't you know it isn't right to waste food?”
Amber jumped down from her bed and ran towards Luna. She pulled on Luna's arm as she cried, but Luna refused to be swayed by the girl's crying.
”If you keep up with this attitude, I will never visit you again.”
The little girl was stunned by Luna's words. She stopped crying and ran back to her bed, throwing her pillows behind her as if looking for something. When she saw what she was looking for, her little hand scribbled something on the small whiteboard and gave it to Luna.
