Chapter 63 - A meeting with Hela (2/2)
I turned back to leave her alone but she muttered my name but I still didn't stop.
Hela: ”Kyle, wait.”
Kyle: ”Hmm, need anything”
Hela: ”You…You said…”
Hela: ”You suggest me something good to read”
I chucked a little and gave her a manhwa to read. 'Solo Levelling' I have read it before and I liked its concept. I passed it to her and went back to check on other things.
I teleported myself back to the lab and asked Meg about the progress of the new bionic android.
Kyle: ”So, how it is going? Any progress?”
Meg: ”I have embedded the stone and it's reacting to it. It is not opposing the process like the previous ones.”
I checked some data and went back to Hel.
I found Hela in the garden. She was on the swing. I can see a faint smile on her face. Maybe she is not what was portrayed in the movies.
I went to her. Seeing me she stopped swinging and the smile vanished and the cold look the place again.
Kyle: ”You look beautiful when you smile. So, smile more.”
Kyle: ”Who said those things to you?”
Hela: ”Father told me never to smile as I am the goddess of Death. I should always kill anyone whoever stands in my path.”
No, I am angry. What the fuċk is wrong with that old bastard. What was he thinking? Who treats their child like killing machines?
I went to her and hugged her. She was quite shocked again but she didn't refuse it. I patted her.
Kyle: ”Why should you believe in those words. Who said Goddess of Death should never smile? Death is just a phase. It is neither joyful nor sorrow. Don't let someone's ideal affect you. Smile more. Smile for me.”
Saying so I tightened my grip around her. I felt something wet on my shirt. 'Is she crying?' I let her cry in my embrace. I don't know when she went back to sleep. I lifted her and teleported to her room. Poor Girl.
I tucked her in bed. I can see a faint smile on her face. I left her there and went back to earth. I teleported to Kamar-Taj to check on Strange. I found her with Yue.
Kyle: ”Everything alright? Mr Strange.”
Strange: ”HAA…. You scared me, Mr Silvers. Yes, everything is good. Thank you for helping me out. I never knew there is much to learn out there.”
I passed her a book about the soul world and its formation. I tried reading it but lost interest. I forgot about returning it that's why it is with me for so long.
