Chapter 31 - Elly just went all out (2/2)

Peggy: ”It's Elly. She started calling me Mom.”

Kyle: ”Well that's something new.”

Elly came inside but she didn't let her guard down. It was dark inside so I was not able to see her clearly nor she did.

Elly: ”Who is this man, Mom?”

Kyle: ”Forgot your brother already. Now, that's some progress.”

Peggy: ”Kyle came back, Elly. He came back.”

A smile appeared on her face but she hid that pretty well. If not for my better eyesight, I wouldn't have noticed it. 'So, she is going to act now, haa!. It's so tiring.' She placed a smug look on her face and came near me.

Elly: ”So, you got time to come back but we don't need you. We can live without you now.”

Peggy: ”What are you saying, Elly. He is your brother.”

Elly: ”So, what if he is my brother. Why is he here now?”

Peggy: ”He is your brother Elly. He saved you that day. If not for him you…”

Elly: ”So, what if he saved me. I never asked him to save me. He did this on his own accord. I never asked him for anything he did for me.”

Peggy slapped Elly. This was the first I have ever seen her this angry. Elly had her tears flowing but she didn't stop taking.

Peggy: (tears in her eyes)”I need him. You need him. You know it very well. If not for him you would have killed by now those Nazi bastards.”

Elly: (weeping)”Where was he when we needed him? Where was he when you were crying all day long? Where was he when you were doing all the stuff he was supposed to do? Where was he? Answer me.”

She broke down near the end. Her tears were flowing nonstop. She was letting everything out. I was feeling really guilty. If I could tell them my side of the story. All these things could have been better.

Kyle: ”I am sorry, Elly. I was supposed to be with you but I wasn't there. If you still think that I am not needed I will go. I will never interfere with your life. I just want you to be happy that's all.”
