Chapter 19 - Fun in Fair (2/2)

{Near the fair}

I parked the car. We all three got out of the car and started moving to the entrance. Everyone was eyeing me and carter. Some were bullshitting, some were praising. I didn't mind any of it but we really look like 'Made for each other' couple with Elly completing the family.

First, we bought some cotton candy and moved around watching everything. Carter was smiling and Elly had starts in her eyes. We first started by going inside a haunted house. Well it was not that good as I knocked everyone out but what could I do. Those people were sneaking. Soldiers instincts nothing else.

We then rode the Ferris wheel. It was not that high but we were still able to see the whole area from above. I was literally having fun there. Peggy was the same. She was now smiling openly. I was cracking jokes. We were laughing. It was fun. Elly asked to go on merry go round.

When she was on the merry go round. We had lots of fun there. We ate a lot and enjoyed a lot. Though Elly was a bit reluctant to go home we went back to home after riding the Ferris wheel one more time. We reached my home. Elly was sleeping, so I tucked her in the bed.

Kyle: ”Hey Peggy, why don't you stay here tonight. Its quite late, right now.”

She agreed. I went to take a light shower and sat on the couch. Peggy then went to take a shower and went to bed after that. I was lying on the couch. I was not feeling asleep. I have never felt from the day I have born. So, I went in the balcony on the upper floor. In the cold breeze, under the stars, it was really calming. After some time, Peggy came upstairs.

Peggy: ”What are you doing here?”

Kyle: ”I am not that sleepy, so I just came here.”

Peggy: ”Me too”

I pulled a chair out and gestured her to sit. She took the seat. We gazed the night sky. No one talked for some time but then Peggy broke the silence.

Peggy: ”Hey Kyle, I you don't mind. Can I ask you something?”

Kyle: ”Ask away.”

Peggy: ”How much do you know Steve?”

Kyle: ”Ah! Steve. I met him in high school. He was the same scrawny guy as he was before the experiment. He wanted to join army. I definition a true soldier. Loved his friends more than his life.”

Peggy: ”Quite a guy I say, but what about his persona?”

Kyle: ”A perfect man to say but one thing I never liked his was he never enjoyed his life. Like he was born to be soldier. In high school we hooked him with many girls but his vibes, justice and stuff just… Sigh”

Peggy: ”What about me, Kyle? What kind of person do you think I am?”

Kyle: ”To say the truth, Peggy. You underestimate yourself too much. You are young, beautiful, smart. Everything a boy wants in a girl. You have it all. If not for Steve, I would have proposed you by now.”

Peggy: ”Thank you for the time. I think I should go to sleep now.”

She left and went to bed. I was still watching the stars.

[Kyle, you are quite the lady killer.]

'What I did now?'

[Nothing just do what you are doing]

'Hey Eve, I miss you so much, when can we meet?'

[We will meet soon, Darling but for now focus on Peggy. I have accepted her as my sister.]

I sighed and took my place again.
