Jiang Zhi heard the voice and was the first to rush over. She saw that the props were on fire and her heart sank when she saw the fire in front of her.
Flames were reflected in Jiang Zhi’s eyes. The first thing that came to her mind was that the necklace that Lu Mian had given her. She had promised that she would bring the necklace back in one piece.
She looked at Lu Xuan, who still had a smug look on her face, and grabbed her collar. Her gaze was so cold that it looked like it had been poisoned. “You did this? Where’s my necklace?”
Lu Xuan pointed at the fire and said proudly, “It’s inside. Jiang Zhi, is your life more important or the necklace?”
She wanted Jiang Zhi to see her favorite necklace turn to ashes in front of her eyes! She wanted her pain to be returned a thousand times over!
“Lu Xuan, just you wait!” Jiang Zhi pushed Lu Xuan away and rushed into the fire without hesitation. She had to get the necklace back.
Lu Xuan was shocked. She watched Jiang Zhi’s figure disappear into the fire and did not react for a moment.
Jiang Zhi rushed in. Because she was too anxious, she charged through the suffocating smoke. Jiang Zhi looked around and did not notice that the fire growing to terrifying proportions.
Jiang Zhi covered her nose and walked through it. Her lungs felt like they were on fire. The ashes of the burning wood in the air floated in the air. She felt as if she was in a big cage. She did not want to go out yet. She had to find it!
Finally, at the innermost position, she reached the diamond necklace that was still shining in the box. The sound of something falling around her was ringing in her ears.
Jiang Zhi held the necklace in her hand and smiled. Just as she turned her head, a large piece of burning wood fell in front of her. Jiang Zhi was so scared that she stepped back for a moment. Only then did she realize that her path of retreat had been blocked.
