Chapter 184 - 176 (1/2)

The sad atmosphere engulfed the lounge room. Even the strawberry haired youth who was occupying the four-seater couch was affected by the inevitable vibe due to the topic that Lemon had opened up.

There was a certain feeling that the silver haired young man couldn't pin point. It might be because of their solemn expression when they recall the events together with their former captain.

”Right... It is regrettable to say that Big brother Piero had left but what I can't forgive is he didn't even explain his reason! He suddenly disappeared in the middle of the Intercompetition!” The undulating tone of the curly haired young man was full of resentment and anger. His eyes were reddened together with his puffed up cheeks.

The sudden burst of his tumultuous emotion surprised Chun and the girl who was taciturn neared the other as she comforted him.

Lollipop nodded at the silver haired young man while she helped the bursting Lemon to his room. Chun didn't delay them on their way and the youth decided to stay.

Chun looked at the displayed glass chess pieces on the coffee table in front of her. Rustling of a heavy 'object' was heard from her side, it was Berry trying to sit up from his sleeping posture. Observing his slightly scrunched up forehead and pursed lips, he couldn't go back to sleep.

The listless eyes landed on the observing silver haired young man, amber eyes meeting red ones. Chun expected him to stand up after his silent inspection but the strawberry haired youth spoke.

”You seemed to be an observer.”

She was baffled by the sudden evaluation of the other while she looked back with inquiring eyes.

Somewhat, the taciturn young man had an energy to spare for few sentences. ”You always do that kind of expression as if you are seeing things in a spectator's perspective.”

”…”

The silver haired young man had nothing to say. She knew that this seemed to be lazy guy that doesn't care at anything at all was dangerously observant. When the other was awake, she always felt that silent attentive gaze with the strawberry haired young man. Chun had a hunched that this intelligent person had figured out something with her identity but it didn't matter to him.

Berry didn't talk anymore after this short-conversation. He returned to his bed while not forgetting to look one last time at the latter, then he turned away and left.

”Silver fox?”

She heard the familiar name that she used in the circus and it came from the deep nonchalant voice of the snobbish system. By the corner where the dim lights of the lounge room was attached, a silhouette of a 180 meter-tall man emerged. The usual routine of her snobbish system.

”You called for me?” Chun playfully said while she swirled the half empty and half full drink in her hand. It was interesting that she almost forget her name as a performer. The more she spent her time here, the more she forgot that she was enveloped in this generated mission world. It was like a reality under an illusion.

Xuan momentarily paused while observing the indifferent host. He couldn't help but feel something strange about this performer.

”The management said that after the Intercompetition, you can leave the mission world. But before that, this is an evaluator's notebook. You need to fill up your evaluation of this world and suggestions that we needed to improve on this world.” The snobbish system handed out a pocket-sized notebook and a pen. As the silver haired young man received it, it immediately vanished while entering her.

”You can visualize it and it will appea---”

”Xuan, can I ask you something?” The clear voice of the silver haired young man had a firm rhythm on it. As if the answer of the snobbish system depended her lifeline.

The nonchalant brunette man seemed to detect the atmosphere while he suppressed the usual nonchalance of his tone. ”I will answer anything if its within my jurisdiction.”

The red scarlet eyes who was silently observing the blank square of the glass chess board suddenly lifted her sight and directed a silent and calm gaze at the black orbs. Xuan didn't back down from the eyecontact while waiting for the reply.

”What is the Circus' main objective? Purpose?”

Even in her recollections of memories in her deity-self, Zero didn't clearly stated the goal of this said organization. Pandora and him were both close but some things were left unsaid.

Xuan answered with practiced tone as if this things were the usual routine. It could be because the nonchalant world traveller was a former system. This question was easy for the latter, like just any other drill of systems when meeting their host.

”The purpose of the Circus is to prevent the worlds and dimensions or realms that are created by the Creator to break down by itself while the Creator is not present. If not prevented, it will cause another burden to the Creator. But there are some exceptions.”

Chun frowned from the answer while observing the other. This kind of tone and speech was truly practiced and the way he delivered it was just reciting any other passage but the silver haired young man noticed something.

”The Creator isn't present? Where is He?”

Instead of panicking from the bigger picture that the silver haired young man noticed. Xuan maintained his unhindered expression while he replied with a serious tone.

”That's out of my premise to speak of.”
