Chapter 177 - No Time For That (2/2)

--------Back-to-the-office-----

”It's so unfair!” Yue Yeager sulked with slight envy. His Little Wan didn't hug him when he entered but this smelly brat got lucky.

Yue Xiang could hear a muffled cry from her, his eyes deepened and turned frosty. Facing his father, he asked through the eyes, 'Did you scare her with your lame story?'

Yue Yeager quickly shook his head in defense and looked at the sleeping guy in the basket. 'Save your grandpa from this devil!'

Little Bao made a cute yawn and continued his sleep. 'No time for that.'

”Knock!”

Yue Wan took control over her overflowing guilty consciousness and stepped back from the embrace.

Both men wanted to ask her something, but Yue Wan's hoarse voice ordered: ”Come in.”

Mingwan came in with a file: ”CEO Yue! Young Master! Pardon my interruption, I want to give the resume of the woman who came in for the interview.”

Yue Yeager's face was rigid as solid as he motioned her to hand it over to Yue Xiang and waved his hand for her to withdraw.

Looking at the stiffy atmosphere and red-eyed Yue Wan, Mingwan left the room in confusion.

Before Yue Xiang could speak up, Yue Wan took the file and read the information.

Yue Yeager, who was standing behind Yue Wan with the basket, also took a peek at it and exclaimed: ”She is very well qualified to be my ȧssistant. I have an idea let's test this girl; if she does well, then just make her an official employee. There's no need to go through the trial period.”

Yue Xiang caught sight disturbance in Yue Wan's eyes: ”What's the matter?”

With a scrutinized brows, Yue Wan uttered: ”It's strange.”

”What do you mean?” Yue Yeager could not grasp what she was trying to imply.

The file was hand down to her brother: ”Here.”

Yue Xiang's tone was extremely cold as he lowered her gaze and flipped another page of the resume: ”Understood.”

”Hm? 'understood' what?” Yue Yeager's curiosity was piqued. He was clueless on what they were talking about, so he simply took the file and read through it with a solemn look.

Yue Xiang patted her head and whispered something in her ear.

Yue Wan could not help feeling mortified as she continued to ponder over her brother's words: ”Should I go?!”

”For the sake of me, you have to go.” Yue Xiang's orbs shrank and his voice turned eerily cold.

With a downcasted eyes and scowling face, Yue Wan stomped on the floor heavily as she took her basket and left the room, but not before giving a kiss to her father's cheek.

That cheered Yue Yeager up, so he forgot everything around.

Just as she returned, Yue Wan passed her like she didn't feel her presence.

'What's the rush!?'

Suddenly a gossip falls on her ear.

Mingwan telling her fellow workmate: ”Young Miss seems to have been ostracized by the CEO. I saw her standing there with red eyes.”
