Chapter 58 - Baxter foundation (1/2)
The availability of the VR-Tech took the world by storm. It certainly was a success. The helmet was sold like hot cakes. The games present in the VR were of excellent quality and exciting to play. People with disabilities found a refuge in the virtual world to overcome their disabilities and their anxiety.
The helmet, in secret , was also used to educate the recruits in the S.H.I.E.L.D academy.
Few days after the VR-Launch, Elijah sat down in his mother's office.
Elijah:” How were the initial sales of the helmet?”
Linda:” Very Good , 10 million orders on the first week. ”
Elijah:” Good . It will continue to rise. Are there any issues?”
Linda:” Some doubt about the security and privacy issue but nothing that I couldn't handle.”
Elijah:” Yes. Always value the product. When a product like ours hits the market, it's better to ignore the detractors and leave the costumers to give the good review.”
Linda nodded and said:” I have some news for you. The baxter foundation that you asked me to invest in, you remember?”
Elijah:” Yes, Have there been any breakthroughs in their Quantum teleporter research?”
Linda:” Yes, we have them on close surveillance like you asked. They worked in cooperation with Victor van Doom to achieve the first Quantum teleporter. They're close to achieving it.”
Elijah:” I will be paying them a visit later.”
Linda nodded and both continued to discuss other things.
Elijah accompanied with Banner, Sage and Eliana arrived in a convoy of cars to the Baxter building. It is a surprise inspection to the foundation.
Inside the foundation, People were in panic. Haven Industries informed them of the inspection only an hour earlier.
Dr.Reed Richards was a young aeronautical engineer and physicist. He established the baxter foundation using funds gained from his patented researches and invention. He had the idea to create a dimensional quantum teleporter as means to study cosmic energy . He was in the belief that cosmic energy triggered evolution on Earth millions years ago.
He recruited his childhood best friend Ben Grimm , his college crush and geneticist Susan Storm as well as her ex-astronaut brother Johnny Storm. He went far and recruited his college love and academic rival Victor van Doom. He sought further funding for the project from several avenues but only NASA was interested but couldn't allocate much to the study.
Trying to look elsewhere, He presented the project to Haven Industries and he was surprised to know that Haven industries was a major shareholder of the Baxter Foundation. He also received additional funds to the project but was warned by the scary blonde executive(Eliana) to not do tests until the Ok was given by them.
He thought maybe with his research, he could have his name known to the world.
Reed Richards stood with his friends, discussing the upcoming visit they will be receiving.
Reed:” Did they tell you who will be coming for the inspection?”
Susan:” No, they only informed me that in an hour, executives will be coming to see our project.”
Ben:” Could they have known that we are close to completing the project?”
Victor :” Probably, they are a big corporation. They won't give you money without supervision.”
