Bruce Wayne was waiting for the arrival of Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defence (BPRD). To pass time and recover from his injury, he was taking control of all the camera in the area around the Gateway to keep an eye around.

He was actually looking out for Thomas as he was putting his life in danger. He is using his powers for the good of the people. This thought made him touched at the moment but after returning to the Bat cave and thinking about it, he had understood Thomas isn't a hero but was a selfish person who act only for his own benefits.

Alfred was looking at his injured master helpless look on his face, he once again tried to male his master give up investigation and rest, ”Master Wayne, you are injured. You have to let go and let others take over this matter.

Young heir of Allens is skilled. He can help you and provide support. Even though he might be a little greedy, who isn't? You must learn to trust other people. ”He tried to make his master give up carrying the entire burden of Gotham on his own.

He feared there will be a day when he cannot and his master will be completely crushed unable to recover from it.

Bruce understand where Alfred is heading for by saying these things but he cannot give up yet. Gotham can corrupt even the best. They either become one of them or they die trying to change the situation.

As such he has to make sure the one who can share his burden is not only mentally but physically strong. If not then the darkness of Gotham may make him change sides.

This is what he felt. This is what he thought about Gotham.

Alfred hasn't given up just yet and tried once again, ” You have to know your limits, young master.”

Bruce retorted back, ” Batman has no limits.” He was unyielding on this matter. The moment he yields his resolve will weaken and he cannot tread on that path anymore.

” well you do sir, ” Alfred tries to convince him with words.

But Bruce shook his head and states, ”I cannot afford to know them.”

” What's gonna happen on the day that you find out?” Alfred counters back and looks at his eye.

But Bruce joked, ” Well, we all know how much you like to say, ' I told you so.' Alfred has a sad look on his fave envisioning the day should it come to that and said, ” That day master Wayne even I don't want to.”

He changed topics and asked Alfred, ”Has there been any preparation made by Allens in order to escape Gotham?” He was curious how this young variable who got involved in Gotham reacts to this situation.

” On the contrary, Master Bruce, he has been very busy in Gotham and he has showed no such signs. ” Alfred knows the interest his master have on Thomas and has made a habit of keeping tabs on Thomas and his actions.

This made Bruce curious as he leans back on his chair and turns away from the display in front and asks, ”what has kept this man here in Gotham?”

” Cheap estate, Master Wayne. ” Alfred replied enough for Brice to understand.

It has been nearly half a day since the Gateway was opened in Arkham.

This is neither a lot of time nor very little time. For people who want something done, it is just enough.
